Telesales - Brutal Truth

i'm only three pages in but so far its a classic "it can't work if it isn't done the JDeasy way" thread so far.

You read what you want to read. I didn't say that nor did anyone else say that.

You got a problem with me big boy?

Well bring it on. Stop hiding behind a screen name.

But for your edification, I said it's a failed model for the producing agent. And it is. I also said there's a couple of unicorns doing well with it. They are not sitting in a call center.

You can't answer the OP's questions without worrying about me. But that's OK. You are not the only one obsessed with me.

Aren't you one of those marketers? Marketers hate me because I tell agents the truth.

I totally respect your point of view, and I really didnt come on here to discuss net income, only that there are legitimate call centers making it in the final expense market, and agents doing very well too.

Thats really it, no biggy.

Long time no see :)

I appreciate everyone's insight --

I would venture to say "Net" income is a huge determining factor when comparing Telesales vs Field reps.

Some field reps I'v spoke with via email(Lincoln Heritage) was persuading me to look their way because they offer financing for the leads-ZERO up front cost. Then I learned leads were $30-40 a pop and they want you to have 10 per day. After my head stopped shaking, I asked 3-400 a day in leads? $1500 a week? He said, No, between 8-1000 BUT you'll be making over $500 a day!! :err:

3K per wk(6 days) - 1K(leads) =$2K; minus $150(gas) = $1850; minus 25%(taxes) = $1388; minus 25%(charge back reserve)= $1041; minus $500(Medical/Dental, IRA, ST/LT Disability etc. = Net $541

After I broke this down for him in an email he told me renewals are when the REAL money's made.. the first year is tough! I asked him why he advertises 100K first year when you know it's not true? He became angry and said - there are those who do it! Depends how hard you want to work and how many leads you want to run! Our emailing stopped.

Net is very important.

But I know there are very successful FE reps on here so i'm far from saying the numbers aren't there.. Was just curious about how Telesales stacked up..

3k per wk - 1.5k =$1500; minus gas $150(conservative) = $1350; minus taxes 25% = $1013; minus charge back reserve(25%)= 759 -- This does NOT include paying for Medical Insurance, IRA, Dental, etc..(350) = NET 450

It all depends on the agent themselves and the training and platform provided to succeed in telesales. For some the reduced comp is worth it, to that individual, in exchange for the volume of leads needed to be successful at telesales. Others like gymguy who doesn't post on here anymore figured out a system to self generate their own leads a few days out of the week and then proceed to sell to those leads the rest of the week. Others purchase their own leads and work them. For telesales though if you aren't willing to or cut out for sitting at a desk and dialing all day your not gonna be successful at it.

What type of horses do you "ride" big boy?

I assume Arabians

I can't imagine you are athletic enough or have the coordination required for something like barrels kegs or poles (quarter horses)

Maybe you do some dumbass English pleasure crap & get dressed up in costume?
