I'm a big fan of the "just move" philosophy.

I understand that you probably have friends and family nearby but weather can have a significant impact on your mental health. I loved (and still do) NY but the weather in the NE and northern states just sucks IMO.

Snow is worthless unless you can ski/snowshoe on it. Rain is even worse (although I'm not a fan of our annual "smoke season"). And don't get me started on humidity.

Lots of sun can do wonders for your attitude. (again, just an anecdotal opinion)

Headed to MD tomorrow. Their high is only a few degrees higher than our lows this next week. I was there in January. I froze my wrinkly brown a$$ off. I will be the for a couple of weeks in June and understand the humidity is bad. I don't think the ground ever drys there. That son has been hinting I should move there. I am thinking that is a no-go.

Oh, and East Coast Beaches v California Beaches .........

The IMO I originally signed on with, unbenounced to me was a more cut throat MLM structured IMO who was huge on door knocking. So, me being a newb was tossed into the streets and told to knock the hoods and low income areas, so I did fearlessly lol. I have so many stories from that era. One is me cold knocking in the hood one day, and one of the first public house units I knocked I got inside. The lady had a plethora of issues, and quite frankly was so uninterested with anything it seemed, and I suspect high which I'll get to.

She has a TV sitting on the floor, and a couch she was sitting on, that's it. I had to pull up a rolling chair from her kitchen lol. She had no life insurance at all, and of course, used direct express. Half way through our conversation she zones out at the TV, with me having to reel her back in. Then she completely falls asleep...great.

We get halfway through the app and she HAS to go get her son from school RIGHT NOW. No exceptions. I stop back by the next day to wrap up the application andddddd drum roll please......she doesn't have her direct express card, she lost it. I was so angry leaving her house lol. But, I continued knocking in that same area and I think wrote an AIG on an older lady. Probably was a chargeback, damn FE.

This is why I switched to telesales hahaha

Lol nice. Stories like that are actually why I'm switching to Medicare sales pretty much full time, and just grabbing the low hanging FE fruit when available only. No chargebacks, better environment, easier sale etc. I personally could never do telesales, I enjoy being out in the communities doing what I please. I did tech support for a while, it would take alot of $ to get me sitting behind a computer all day again lol.

I'm a home service (debit) agent who also writes bank drafted FE. In my opinion, FE agents should stay completely away from low income housing of any kind (unless they don't mind bad persistency and chargebacks!). Of course there are exceptions. For example, if it's entirely a senior complex, you might do better. Otherwise, leave those neighborhoods to us debit agents!

An IMO that would send a brand new FE agent into public housing, telling you to cold canvass a neighborhood full of young single moms, is somebody you should be glad to get away from.
