Think And Grow Rich

"Faith is the power of creation that all humans have. If we invest our faith in a lie, that lie becomes truth for us. If we believe we are not good enough, then thy will be done-we are not good enough. If we believe we will fail, we will fail, because that is the powe and magic of our faith." Don Miguel Ruiz - The Voice of Knowledge

Once we understand that we are dreaming, knowledge doesn't control our faith anymore. Instead, the opposite happens: our faith controls our knowledge; our faith controls our agreements and beliefs.

Thinking is dreaming with a language; it is nothing but the effort of the mind to justify the dream. There is nothing you have to do or become to surrender to Life and invest your faith there. There is only something to stop doing, and that is believing that your are NOT Life and that Life is not doing Life as 'you.' Alan Hardman

Faith is a knowledge within the heart, beyond the reach of proof.
Khalil Gibran

Faith is not belief without proof, but trust without reservation.
D. Elton Trueblood

Faith is not something to grasp, it is a state to grow into.
Mahatma Gandhi

I don't look at faith as blind religious belief. I look at it as an ability of mankind. It is the application of belief, whether its a belief in science or religion or anything. Faith builds the blocks of perception, its the rules we define the dream by. Ancient shamans called this "intent"

What kind of secret society stuff did you notice?
Well, this was 1986 before the interwebz. I was a young punk, knew nothing about nothing. The first thing that stood out as being strange was how he was saying to have relations with a woman right before you go make a sale. He may have said the wife, whatever, it seemed strange. He said it pumps you up. I guess it does. Then, once I got the webz, I started researching secret societies and freemasons. Turns out, he was a freemason. Nothing wrong with that, but once I realized what was going on, a lot of stuff started making sense. I do not have anything against freemasons and "the craft" and all that, just that once you realize he was so involved, a lot of his writings make sense.

All they are are nothing but modernized copies of 2,500 year old Buddhist scripts. If you'd like to learn from the original source, that's where you should go. Nothing new under the sun ..

The secret societies take from Buddhists, Greek mythology, modern day religion, Jewish mysticism, all of the above.

They probably do - I don't know and I don't care. All I know is that I was once deep into Buddhism (Zen) in my 20's and read many of their scripts. Just about 100% of all the self-help motivational mind power etc etc stuffs out there today are exactly what I've read from the scripts word for word.

All I'm saying is it's nothing original and many of these modern day gurus are doing very well by selling stuffs that they had only copied. Business is business I guess.

You are correct. As a matter of fact, if you listen to these guys, usually the same themes and same exact phrases and sayings are being repeated. Nothing new under the sun, is correct. "The dawning of a new day", is one of the sayings to look for. If somebody could come up with the dawning of something new for this century, that person could get rich.

No truer words.

Just to be fair, the xxxx works but in order for it to work, the practitioner (a Buddhist monk) has to discipline his mind (through meditations) for decades. It doesn't come easy and doesn't happen over night.

The basic premise - and I'm over-simplifying this - is that the reality is like a dream. In dream, your subconscious thoughts are projecting what is in your mind but you think they're outside of yourself and that you have no control over them.

The purpose of meditation is to realize (the enlightenment) that all that that is happening around you is a mere projection of your own thoughts and as one can discipline one's mind to control his/her own dreams, one can control his/her reality.

Again it works but just because something works it doesn't make it real IMO (zen masters would disagree on that).
