Think And Grow Rich

We all ought to get together and write a book. A bunch of short stories, all put together. An account of real insurance stories, by real agents. It would not really sell to others outside of sales, though. Maybe it would.

Another book that goes a step deeper than T &GR is "Thick Face, Black Heart, by Chin-Ning Chu."

Check your local library..

Just read the 1st chapter. (I am super slow today)

Anyways look at the topic "working with and working for"

Do you work for your clients?
Or do you work with?

I have always worked for but this has made me re think.

Thoughts?

One of these days, but I'm not ready for the book. I have bit off more than I can chew and am buried in work.

However, if others can highlight what specific changes they made after reading the book, that would be interesting.

They probably do - I don't know and I don't care. All I know is that I was once deep into Buddhism (Zen) in my 20's and read many of their scripts. Just about 100% of all the self-help motivational mind power etc etc stuffs out there today are exactly what I've read from the scripts word for word.

All I'm saying is it's nothing original and many of these modern day gurus are doing very well by selling stuffs that they had only copied. Business is business I guess.

The more I read the Vedic literature (i.t. the Mahabharata of which the Bhagavad Gītā is part of, the Upanishads, etc.) and compare it to what I see in the so-called New-Age movement and other modern "gurus" (Deepak Chopra, etc.) the more I have to agree with Franz here.

I too studied Buddhism (not the Zen variant) but found that to me the message was "The world sucks and there isn't anything you can do about it." Didn't work for me. I found much more inspiration and especially "death comfort" in Bhakti Yoga (what you folks call Krishna Consciousness... and yeah I've heard all the jokes and insults from everyone so spare me your efforts at derision) and for those who are looking for a different belief foundation or to add on to the one you have, there is a lot of good "stuff" in the Bhakti-Krishna (what some call Hindu... but there is no such religion as "Hindu") readings. I think the reincarnation section in the Gita is excellent
