I was wondering as a new guy running FE leads how far do most of you travel to run your appointments? Do the majority of you stay close to home? Or are you running appointments an hour or more away from home?

An hour, sometimes two away from home. The key is to try to group them so you drive to the area where you will have appts / leads, then limit your driving at that point between appts. The distance to the area isn't that relavent as long as you can have mega activity once you get there.

I appreciate the reply. If you're running leads two hours from home how many appointments do you usually have in that area for the day?

2 hour drive to area we work

3 days a week = 840 miles a week round trip

3000 AP weekly average... is what I shoot for or

$100 a day in premium

I try to get 20+ dm leads a week

I don't know why this is, but for some reason most agents feel like they have to drive 2+ hrs to sell FE. Funny thing is, agents in the area they are going to are driving to THEIR county to write business!

I have been trying to get myself and my guys to work in our county more vs. driving all over the state, and I've noticed our production goes up.

Part of the problem is if you are in your own hometown you are more likely to be distracted than if you are out of town.

Yeah, that's me... I "feel like" I need to drive 2 hours away but at least I won't get distracted.... Seriously dude... Why don't you work your own county???

Funny you mention this. I was driving in traffic a few days ago and was trying to figure out just where all these people were driving too and from (rush hour 5:00 pm traffic). If everybody just worked where they lived (within reason) we wouldn't have this problem lol It's like we are all little ants driving all over the planet except ants are probably more efficient than us.

Anyway, telesales eliminates this problem (got to steal Greg's thunder lol).

Telesales is the ticket. Not only does it eliminate your driving, it also eliminates your ability to make money in FE. Win-win! For your competition that is.
