Trying to Seperate the Men from the Boys?

Following behind an independent producer must be very exciting Jdeasy!

It amuses me that while you do not work with EFES any longer you continue to discuss their program on the forums.

Sounds to me like EFES put food in your mouth for several years so I can see your loyalty is probably very much appreciated by the folks over in Dallas...

So what are your present goals with Fexcontracting?

Do you head up the "I used to be with EFES but now I'm not and heres why" division?

Nothing personal... I just have had such a remarkable experience with Equita and I have listened to you on the P&L's so many times and read what you used to write on this forum as though it carried weight....

I value leaders, not followers.

100%+ increase in renewals.

TOTAL independence as an agent.

A plethora of product options to offer my clients, with the benefit of reduced product replacement.

The HIGHEST level of lead control I can get, without owning a commercial mail printer, so I am not at the mercy of someone who handles dozens of other agents.

Those are my reasons.

You sound kinda bitter!!! I can relate though. I once saw Donald Trump at LAX. I wouldnt say he is my idol but I do hold him in high regards. I introduced myself and told him how I wanted to be as successful as him one day.

He brushed me off, didn't even look at me and mumbled some cheesy one liner as he walked off. I was crushed!!!!

I'm not saying JD would ever do that to somebody. But I can see why you feel like you lost a mentor.

You shouldn't hold it against him though. FE agents change companies and agencies as often as they change their underwear!!

Why would you care that his is going independent. Seems to me that he valued his hands on mentor more than the shell that housed him. Aside from a outlet for leads what is he leaving behind? :GEEK:

First off...Who are you? Since you made reference to what you value, I will add what I value... People who do not hide behind screen names.

JDEasy's success has been very publicly vetted. Not only with EFES, but also with NAA. It is very beneficial for new agents that come to the forum to be able to hear successful agents like JD's experiences. These are experiences from a real life "Confirmed Successful Final Expense AGENT." New agents are able to become more informed about the business and learn some of the key questions that need to be asked when you're making Final Expense career choices.

I'm confident you have never, or never will, do the volume of Annual Premium JD has done. I'm sure you have not obtained a tenure of experience and sustained success for nearly 10 years selling Life Insurance as JD has.

So when you make insinuations that "JD is a follower" you reveal your overall ignorance about FE. My advice is you need to re-calibrate your values. Maybe to something to include agents who have had sustained success that produce 200K in AP every year. There are not that many of them and you should consider yourself lucky and be appreciative of the knowledge and experiences JD shares with us.

How much do you spend weekly on FE leads?

Do you buy leads every week religiously or do you have a certain schedule you follow, or do you throw all caution to the wind and wing it, buying some here and some there.

Do you see a direct correlation between the amount and consistency of leads you buy and your sales volume and sales consistency?

If you don't mind how much FE premium do you sell yearly?

On average what is your per lead cost?

What do you think a fair contract for a fair lead price is?

Hope the questions make sense, I am mostly asking so a new agent can see you have to pay to play with big boys.

My agency on average as a whole purchases 5k to 8k a week in leads YTD.

Average ap is 20k to 30k a week.

If you take my agency YTD production and divide it by the amount we have spent on leads, on average we get about 6.9k ap per every 1k in leads we purchase.

I see an overwhelming correlation between the amount of leads we purchase and the amount that we produce. The more leads we take the more we produce.

My biggest month was the month we took the most leads. My lowest was the month we took the least amount of leads.

This is all based on an average of about 25 agents though. So its hard to consider what a new agent should take because everyone's different.

I have one agent that writes 25k a month with only spending $500 on leads. He's my most efficient. He works a ton of events and referrals. My least efficient agent takes about 3k to 4k a month in leads and produces 20k. Those are my top two guys and they are polar opposites.

Wow! I don't really know where to go with this. You do have me at a disadvantage since you know who I am but I have no clue as to who you are.

But let's correct a few things first. I am still with EFES and have said so plenty of times including in this thread. Still it seems you more issues than just reading comprehension.

And even once I am gone from EFES I'm sure I will still speak of them and recommend them to certain agents. Being associated with EFES has been very good for me and also very good for EFES. The people there are also my friends and will continue to be my friends. Just as I maintained my friendships with Tim W and rearden after they left EFES.

As for my goals with fexcontracting, they are the same as they are with EFES. $3000 per week in ap. I'm sure I will help them with their training calls when I'm asked just as I did with EFES.

I'm sure you will still be able to go to EFES University and listen to my plug and learn calls whenever you would like. I don't think they are going to delete them.

I'm not following anyone but myself. I did say that that earlier in thread that I was "following Travis" but I meant that metaphorically not literally.

Fex is a better fit for me at this time and point of my career than EFES. I'm sorry that it hurts your feelings for me to do what's best for me but that's just how it is.

Thank you for your input.

JD - As a new agent, thank you for some great input on this forum and on EFES P&Ls. From my perspective, I hope you continue to provide informative posts on this forum.

I think it is great that you are moving on to another phase of your career. It looks like a great team being built at fexcontracting. Best wishes to all of you.
