I am very very new to the business but, isnt the target customer for FE low income households. So for example when you read stories such as "House should be condemned" or something like that, is that the type of client you want otherwise they could just pay for the Funeral out of pocket instead of needing insurance

Do not box yourself in too tightly with what you expressed above.

Read here (post 16) to see a broader definition from a successful fe agent. My guess would be that you will find a "selling field" somewhere between those two extremes as you develop your experience and skills.
