United Health Care - Opting Out of Most Exchanges!

From that LA times article: Talk about being ignorant on a subject

Right. It's called Medicaid expansion. Without it we wouldn't see a huge difference between pre-ACA uninsured rates and today.

May 11, 2016 will be the day of reckoning. Anybody have predictions on how many carriers will opt out by then? Maybe we should start and office pool.

Most will file just in case, with big rate increases. Doesn't mean they won't pull out in Sept or Oct when denied the rate ups, or other reasons

Sometime is September is the last point they can opt out of the exchanges. One of our big carriers state so. May is when rates need to be filed and Sept is the last time to opt out.

I believe it will be a domino effect just like the elimination of SEP compensation.

Those two states must have bad losses. For UHC to opt out without even filing rates is definitely a sign of losses they don't think will turn around.

Does anyone know the FAX number to United Healthcare broker services?? I don't have the patience to wait on hold for 40 minutes just to ask them this. Plus, their Broker portal is being systematically dismantled. Thanks in advance!

Whats your question? If its not client specific, maybe someone here already has the answer

It's client specific, KGMom. UHC erased my Harken clients from the Broker portal, and never paid any commissions for 2016. Harken's broker department terminated its Chief of Operations, who also happened to be the sole employee. Am glad that I only have a scant few clients with Harken.

Thanks for caring enough to ask, KGMom!

I found out that UHC moved my clients to a new Harken Health section of the broker portal. Harken said in January that one was being built for us, but didn't say that it would be at UHone.com, and that we wouldn't be notified when the migration would occur.

Now I just have to fill out and fax over the commission direct-deposit form to UHC and we're good to go. Thanks to each of you who provided constructive feedback over the past 24 hours.
