Is all this bashing necessary? Dwayne is doing what he considers a "good thing". Some agree, some disagree. For those who disagree I suggest that you start a new thread.

There are guys on here who I don't agree with on everything and I know that they don't agree with me on everything. That doesn't make them bad guys. Well, not totally anyway. haha It's part of what makes this form so valuable and even entertaining at times.

Sorry for not being perfect. So by your standards, it is not o.k to call someone a thief who steals, or someone who lies a liar, or someone who cheats a cheater, etc, even if you witnessed them doing it? Someone who makes fun of homeless people because they are in a better financial situation than they are is a MORON!!!

Before you start in on how one should behave, please look In Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Jesus didn't pull punches when he confronted people, like the Pharisees and Sadducees. Here is a guy who got off of his arch-conservative ass, hiked up to some horrible place in the hills YOU don't want to go, met with un-washed, unstable, and depressed people YOU don't want to meet with, and did a little something to make their life just a little easier by getting them a warm sleeping bag so that they don't catch their death of a cold (which most of you neo-cons would agree that is what they deserve, right?)

So if Dwayne wants to sound or be self-righteous not a problem to me because he's shown me that he IS a RIGHTEOUS man.

It took balls to do what he did... and I don't care if it is Christian balls, Muslim balls, Jewish balls, or atheist balls... the point is that he has them... and to be perfectly blunt about it, they rest of you don't.

I donated about 1/3 of the money, he takes time out of his busy life to buy the stuff and deliver it, and all your small-minded, greedy, arch-conservative agents castigate us for it.

I'm used to dealing with you folks. Indeed, I invite your hatred and disdain. I never want any of you to associate yourself with me. However, I got Dwayne's back on this one... because he went out and DID IT. "It ain't braggin' if you can do it" said Dizzy Dean and if you really are self-righteous, there is no wrong in saying so.

Dwayne, I remember what it was like with my flirtation with homelessness in 2004. I remember the sinking self- esteem. I remember not wanting to look anyone directly in their eyes. I remember having not a crumb to eat while my relatives basked in their bounties. I remember sitting in the food stamp office for hours only to be told that I had made too much money BEFORE and did not qualify. I remember fearing running into anyone I knew. I remember wondering if I could catch a nap on the park bench during the night if I did get turned out. Would I have to keep one eye open for safety sake? How would I hold some menial job if I couldn't bathe, eat, etc..? What would I do when I did get back on my feet and needed references? "Oh, you were homeless?"

Times have been tough but nothing like that. I am going to donate next week when my unemployment check comes. Yes, I have survived another scare. Was laid off from a captive job. But, I will survive and help those who might just be wondering if they will.
