Todd I can assure you you can write guaranteed issue AIG under two different numbers/dual contract.

And I thought I had dual contract from people that were both under Trans Premier. There's a multiple relationship form they fill out. But it could be that they were under one of the other divisions.

Just an update on my release situation.

Chase has not responded to my email or calls. My calls are going straight to voicemail. At this point it is safe to say that he has BLOCKED my calls. He HAS made the effort to disable all of my EFES log in's (even though I still wrote over $3,500 with them last week).

This has officially risen to the level of high school petiness!!

Either EFES gives releases or they don't. If they don't, that's totally fine. Just be upfront about it.

And since the only way I can get a response from EFES is through these forums. I will simply post the same email that I sent Chase at 8am on Thursday.

"Chase,

Please give me an update on the status on my releases. Since you claim (on the forums) that you immediately began processing them on Tuesday I see no reason why everything should not be finalized by Friday.

Thank You,"

Please just give me an update. If for nothing else, just so I will know the best approach for me to move forward with my career.

Also thanks for all the encouragement that was given to me both publicly and privately (through DM and email). Those words really meant a lot.

Seems that these guys have burned a lot of other people over the years.

At this point I'm just going to approach it like they're not going to release my contracts. Luckily I only contracted with the companies that they include in their rate quoter... UHL, lifeshield, MOO, Trans, LBL, Americo, RN, prosperity, AMAM, Balt Life, AIG, Gerber, GW (they have foresters and Aetna but I never contracted with them).
I'll miss a few of them but I'm confident that I'll still be able to write a good amount of business with other carriers.

This whole situation has definitely been eye opening for me. I felt like I was dealing with a child rather than a leader in a mutli-million dollar organization.

So they want the overwrite on your business but you have been cut off from the organization? That is unacceptable behavior, and certainly lowers my opinion of EFES as a whole quite a few notches.

There are a lot of good folks at EFES, but until they start living up to their stated release policy, which is to offer hassle-free open releases, I think they need to be taken off the forums recommend list.

My recommendation to anyone new to this business is to take three or four main carriers with your go-to IMO, but get three or four replacement carriers, either by going direct to the company or use another IMO or two.

For example, I write most of my business with my main IMO. I have one carrier direct who gives me a few leads each month and those leads get written to that carrier. I have a couple of carriers with an off the board IMO that I have had since I was first licensed. I do some of my own mail, so I throw some business that way as well. Basically, if my main IMO ever does something to make me want out, I have enough carriers to keep right on going even if I have to wait out a six month period to get my other carriers back.

That being said, what really sucks is that if an IMO does what one expects of them, and if the comp is fair and reasonable, no one would ever think to leave. If a good agent with a good work ethic wants to go somewhere else, it is likely almost 100% the fault of the IMO, not the agent. ("Almost," for you touchy recruiters who have an "exception" to that rule)

Unless my IMO tries to pull a fast one on me by changing my contracts/renewals behind my back, or does something stupid, such as pick up the phone and call me to yell at me about something I post on the forum, I have no reason to go anywhere.

If someone does want to go, these IMO's should figure out what THEY themselves did wrong; and they should also release in a timely manner.

This is why I always say get an up front signed open release letter. Even with someone that states publicly that they release. You will probably get your release by posting here but they want to hassle you and the next agent sees this they will give up. This FMO should go off the recommended list until they release and apologize.
