Ok, well u had to call those tele leads eventually...how were they this time around?

I just got them today. I already had tomorrow filled by the time they sent them. I won't be calling them now until Wed. for Thurs.

I only got 5. I think there's only 2 leads there from the 5. I've asked Travis to listen to the other 3 and see what he thinks before I ask for credit. I'll be surprised if he says they are good but if he does I won't ask for credit on them.

I don't like them anyway and I wouldn't have gotten anymore if they had gotten me 15 mail leads.

If they are different than the ones I go back in Jan I can't tell the difference. But, that's why I want Travis to listen. A second opinion. It could be that I dislike them so much that I'm not open minded on them.

I have bought them from a few different sources and try as I might, I can't seem to do much with them. I make money, but would rather do direct mail.

Yep.

I let go my appointment setter a few months ago and picked up a new one 4 weeks ago.

My God what a world of difference.

I was probably getting a 50% show rate with the first -- now it's more like 75% to 80% -- and you can tell the difference, too.

My recommendation is to let this person go and find another. ELance has plenty of talent waiting to be hired.

Otherwise, do it yourself.

have all of your appointment setters come from elance? what is your experience using them?

My recommendation is to pay 5 bucks to place an ad; then, invite some freelancers to bid on the project.

I had 5 or 6 bidders, of which I narrowed it down to 2.

Here's my opinion on what you should look for;

-American born only. No foreigners should be calling on old people.

-I prefer a one-man show versus a telemarketing operation to deal with.

-Catch the interviewee off guard by role playing a typical call.

-Give them 2 weeks to perform.

-As obvious as it is, please talk to the person over the phone before making a decision.

What would you say is the difference in your first and second appointment setter?
What is a typical amount that you pay?

I know that no shows happen, etc. but what can be done to help solidify appointment...especially eliminating the ones that think its free?
Should appointment setter be general? "He will be by to drop off information you requested." Or "He will be by to show you information about the life insurance program you requested."
