Web Hosting Question

From an seo standpoint I've heard it's good form to choose a hosting company in your area if you are targeting your location.

The first company I used was Register.scam .. I mean Register.com I would literally go a week without being able to receive emails from the forms filled out on the site. Their reasoning was that people who were grouped on my server had been spamming and the entire server was blacklisted. It takes about a week to moved to another server.

Second company is BlueHost. So far some minor glitches but not as bad as the former company. I point my email servers to a gmail account and haven't had any issues.

Re: Web Hosting Question ..!

Customer service is definitely at the top of the list when considering a web hosting company. I've used Yahoo and sometimes I have to wait an hour to talk to someone!! Now I use GoDaddy and haven't had any issues.

Yes I agree with you, right now I'm using hostgator. the CS is quite good.

I use Midphase. Usually pretty good. Re websites, never an easy decision to pick your builder. Feel free to PM me for my unique unbiased perspective.

Siteground. They're the best.

Chumps, which one do you use? Both look like they do the samething.
I am searching for webhost to have email address and a simple web site.

No phone or email support. Imagine if you had no phone.

I noticed siteground was in panama & bulgaria, "not that there is anything wrong with that."

Thanks for the feedback...

I would look for factors such as: reliability, how well-established the company is, pricing, features (do they offer what you need), the hosting platform. Once you narrow down the providers list, call or write an email. See how fast they response. The support should be excellent as you may always run into tech problems in the future.

Hi Zac, consider these things
1.Reliability and speed of access
2.Data Transfer (Traffic/Bandwidth)
3.Disk space
4.Technical support
5.SSL (secure server), Shopping Cart
6.Email, Autoresponders, POP3, Mail Forwarding
7.Control Panel
Hopefully it will help u.
