Website is # 1 on Google?

Bob, I'm shocked that you're a part of the "tearing down of others" on this post. He sounded excited and is seeking advice or knowledge, is he not? Trying to learn? And this is how you react?

What's with you guys?

You know a lot can be learned about people if you watch how they treat others.

I hope at least you feel better about yourselves. But that's not likely is it?

In another 2 weeks I am sure you will be promoting your SEO expertise.

Hey Rob,

Thanks for the post and I really appreciate it, but I could care less what these guys think. As you noticed, I didn't respond, because they are unworthy of my time and efforts.

I know who I am and how hard I work to become good at what I choose to do.

The guys that I am currently working with know that I care about them and want to help them, and that's far more important to me than these agents who think otherwise. My phone is always on the hook for them.

I know that I have disrupted the good ole boys club, and they think I picked on their brother, and they are fighting back. I understand and accept that as the way things are going to be. You will never catch me responding to their negative remarks again, ever.

Let them impress each other with their immense knowledge of the insurance business, and I am sure they will even impress newer agents, but I am going to keep doing what I am doing, and becoming more and more successful as I go along. I'm not so easily impressed.

Dwayne, Nice job with the site. In my experience, typically when you have a new site with a name that matches a keyword, Google tends to put that at the top.

At some point, after several indexes they may deem your site isn't as relevant as another. They key is having highly relevant content to the search terms you want to rank highly for. (I know, I am preaching to the choir). As long as your site is the most relevant based on Googles constantly changing arithmetic, you will be at the top.

You see this in effect when a blog post is written with specific keywords. It may immediately jump to the top of the search engine. Over time, it slowly starts to drop, as new fresh, more relevant content becomes available.

Hope that makes sense. Keep up the good work!

Billy

Your domain name is important. Whether people search for that exact term is another conversation. I believe someone provided a link to Google adwords that shows how many people search for your term. After your domain name, you've got to start practicing SEO. There are many techniques and so I encourage you to google SEO and read posts on here to learn the many things you can do to get your site at the top of searches for key keywords.

I have been doing that and I have run across good information. Thank you for the advice.
