The other day I had a full dark blue outfit with some embroidered nobody's logo on my jacket. Because my shirt was white, to cut the style to more romantic, I placed a pink and blue scarf. When the meeting was done, I went to do car oil change. There They asked me in I am a flight attendant. I answered No. The guy still asking - are you working for an airline? Which air line?
It is so thin border when you want to make good impression... you just can make a wrong impression.

Do you wear a coat and tie?

Yes, if it's a planned appointment, other than fam/friends, coat and tie. I thought about relaxing my policy in summer, but decided against it.

Back in the day when coat and tie was the norm for a lot of folks, I almost never went into a Kmart or Walmart without someone asking if I worked there..

And now that my "uniform" is khaki pants and navy blue polo shirts that happens to me all the time.

In fact, I've been twice fired from my local Walmart even though I have never worked there.
