What is "must have" advice for a newbie?

I think when you focus primarily on helping people and not on making money, you have so much more chances to succeed no matter the competition. And since your goal is to provide the best for your clients, you will eventually end up offering the best strategies and solutions for them available in the industry today. Now when you add your heart to that, you thrive!
Good luck! ;-)

It can be a very rewarding industry no doubt!!! However, none of it comes easy. If you are hard working and coachable you are already ahead of most of the pack lol. Make sure the outfit you are considering joining is accessible. There's nothing worse than someone making an override on you and yet they never return calls or emails.

I've seen a few ads recruiting for FE insurance.

I'm a 43yr old male, no kids. I am looking for a sales position that is rewarding, both financially and purpose. When I think of most sales people, I think "scammer." As I think many do.

I wamt to be that guy that puts the person at ease, build the trust and friendship needed between clients to have a successful business.

I've done everything from cleaning, baking, wedding cakes, vacation sales, business owner, sold a business and now, here I sit.

This industry seems competitive but rewarding from what I've read. It takes determination, patience, trust, etc from what I see, just like most things in life .

Any advice would be appreciated!

Years ago I remember going to a theatre to watch a movie. It was kind of interesting at first but it quickly turned dumber and dumber as it progressed. It eventually got so ridiculously stupid that I thought about getting up and walking out...but I didn't. Some strange curiosity compelled me to stay and watch the whole retarded movie. When it was over, I remember regretting that I just wasted two hours of my time by sitting through that whole stupid movie. LOL...I relived that same experience as I finished this thread.
