What's Your Opinion on Forethought FE?

Thanks for this information. I was looking to go with forethought, maybe I should look a little harder

If that's you PM and I'll give you my address- I want to buy a policy from you!!!!

I like Royal Neighbors and Monumental. Monumental pays really fast and has easy going underwriting. Royal has some of the best rates around. It pays to have at least 3 companies in your repertoire!!!

Thanks! I will find a brokerage for these....

Better choices are going to be Monumental, Settlers, Americo, Oxford, Royal Neighbors, Foresters, 5Star, Assurity, etc.

Thanks for the info! I've heard Americo is good for someone with health problems who can't get approved with other ones.

I write Settlers Life because they issue there policies in a Funeral Trust which is exempt from Medicaid recapture act. In Illinois I can only write up to $4,000 death benefit but most states allow up to $12,000.

What is an Irrevocable Funeral Trust?

An 'Irrevocable Funeral Trust' is a trust you create for your final expenses. It is a single premium life insurance policy that is offered by a select group of insurance companies - placed into your 'Trust' for safe-keeping until you pass away. Because the policy itself is owned by your 'Irrevocable Funeral Trust', it offers tax-free benefits, protection from inflation, and can be shielded from confiscation by Medicaid or nursing homes.

What are the Advantages of an Irrevocable Funeral Trust:

Peace of Mind - Owners of an Irrevocable Funeral Trust enjoy all of the following benefits
  • Cannot be confiscated by any nursing home or government sponsored care (Medicaid)
  • Exempt from Medicaid and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) "spend down" requirements and Estate Taxes
  • Insulated against inflation
  • Can be used for additional expenses such as:
    • a permanent monument in the cemetery
    • travel expenses for family members to attend your funeral
    • outstanding debts or obligations
    • hospital, doctors, legal or attorney's fees
    • a repast once the services are concluded
    • your final expense monies are guaranteed to be there when you need them

What expenses are paid for by an Irrevocable Funeral Trust?

Who is the Irrevocable Funeral Trust that it is owned by?

Who is the Irrevocable Funeral Trust that it is owned by?

There is no point talking to him. Hopwood is an *** on a recruiting binge.

There is so much wrong information in that little speel that he cut and pasted but he's so green he doesn't understand any of it.

He probably doesn't even know that ForeThought practically invented the insurance based funeral trust and the NGL version is basically a carbon copy of ForeThoughts.

Curious as to why no one likes Forethought. I'm not contracted with them, but their rates seems pretty competitive to RNA and Foresters and actually better since they include ADR and grand child rider
