Writing United and Commisions

Perfect Choice, I disagree, secure horizons has a great network in NJ and outstanding formulary (the best formulary in the country as a matter of fact) I sold Unicare, had problems with getting members active, sold Aetna and had problems with PDPs too... in Philly I sold American progressive with good success. Now with the L-OEP I write mainly SNPs anyway ...

Indiana, thanks for the sympathy, not! I buy lists and cold call all day long then work at least 12 appointments a day 3 days a week.

Problems with unicare getting them active? Never had that problem. If you are selling SNPs are you referring to institutionalized individuals or dual-eligibles?

12 appts per day??? How the heck do you schedule 12 appts in a day for 3 days? All from cold calling? What are saying to these people? You are a beast. Assuming you spend 1 hour at each appt (including transportation time) That's a long day. You must be having breakfast, lunch and dinner with your clients too.

I get about 1.5 appts per hour cold calling and I think I am pretty good. To get 36 appts (not that I would want to) I would have to cold call 24 hours a week...that's insane.

I've been in the Senior market for around 14 years and I have never been able to make more than four presentations a day.

Frank, I did 7 in one day once...once.
My tongue was dragging on the ground by the time I got home.
4-5 a day 2 days a week maximum for me.

I have a great idea!!!!!! You don't have to worry about tranfering your contract. Just write them in my name and I will give you 300 plus all the renewals. What a DEAL!!!!!!! Will you make appoinments for me?

Kyle,

I have done 6 in one day only once. Four of them were within a few blocks of each other. Most of them I had already given the price to and qualified them over the phone before I actually went on the appointment. I had to take the next two weeks off. :D

I consider myself very, very lucky to be able to get the appointments to make twelve presentations a week, let alone twelve a day.

To do twelve a day I would have to drive up to the house, sit in the driveway, honk the horn, have them come out to the car and sign the app on the hood without turning the engine off.

I guess I am stuck using "Old Fashion Marketing" unless I can figure out a new way of doing it.

If he is selling Advantage plans and could write 20 apps per week (I get $350 per app from Pyramid) that would be $7,000 per week. That is some serious money! If one could do that every week it would be $364,000 per year. That's a hell of a lot more than I make! I know he said 10 to 20 but even 10, in his second year of selling insurance, is kicking ass and taking names big time.

I have a new hero!

Senior,

I'll give him $310 per app and the same deal. Going once, going twice, Kyle, do you want to jump in at $315?

No thanks...I smell trouble. I see CMS lurking around the corner.

Thanks for the support Frank ...

my presentation takes about 45 minutes total ... very redunddant. It's not hard to qualify and make appointments (although today it is posting on this thread)
guys, I don't sell 20 per week ... i did 12 last week, 9 the week before, 14 the week before that ... AEP is when I was doing 20s.

"what am I saying to these people" ... I let them know who I am and what I am offering, we ussually discuss copayments, meds, Dr.s and other benfits on the phone. If something fits for them they're ussually eager to see me. Not to mention I help People get into programs too such as PACE, meals on wheels, the lifeline program and even sometimes getting them into medicaid. I get a lot of referrals too. And I have to tell you guys I am not by any means the top writer in my agency, there is a guy that went to virginia last week and wrote 50 cases using a calling service.

and everybody please relax ... look at the markets I work in NY, NJ, Pa, the population density is incredible and it's not hard to do 12 a day in the same zip either and not to mention no shows and reschedules.

Guys these weeks are killing me, that's why I asked for the info. I want to work less!!!

Perfect Choice 2 days a week sounds great to me ... by this time next year thats my goal and about 6-10 cases a week.

Back to the original topic please ... How does Ritter Agency pay ???

p.s. Unicare was a nightmare for me ... no one I helped enroll recieved benefits ontime and their customer service and agent support was nonexistant. I Will not write them again.

I live and work in the country so it could be a 20 to 30 minute drive from one appt to another and an hour drive just to get to my first appointment. No wonder you can do so many.

I really like your phone approach. I pretty much do the same with Med Supps. I don't sell a lot of Advantage plans yet though.

Is Pyramid not good in your area? I believe that in Missouri it is the best plan going. (Just my personal opinion.)

If you think Pyramid will do well in your area give Anthony a call, 877.205.4648. I am licensed through him with Pyramid and I get $350 per app. I sold two last month and about two weeks later $700.08 was deposited in my checking account. I don't know where the $.08 came from but I ain't gonna give it back. 20 apps x $.08 per app; that's almost enough to buy a cup of coffee.

Kyle, I am honestly offended. I work with social workers, reverands, senior advocates, Dr.s know me, etc. Maybe if you actually cared about your clients and thier communities ... success in this field wouldn't be such a shock. Consider this, you have the power to really help people who are confused with a fragmented healthcare system. I am a Medicare Advantage Specialist, I can help people get into 75% of the plans available to them. You do realize I am currently contracted with;

Coventry
Secure Horizons
WellCare
Aetna
Bravo
American progressive
EverCare
HealthNet
Humana
AmeriChoice
Unicare ... etc

and no thank you guys I want to work with an FMO directly for United...
