20 leads weekly expectations

I spent 19 years in the car business. Most of the time when new agents would come in they would spend too much times trying to figure out the numbers. I find if you spend more time learning how to sell, the numbers tend to look a whole lot better at the end of the month.

No matter what people say, this is a tough business. I think most guys trying to break in would do much better taking 75 to 80% and having a guy who can spend a good amount of time with them while they learn the ropes.

The problem is finding that guy, allot of people talk about helping a new FE agent , I'm yet to find one that does what they say other than take my money

We have FILTERED leads at a fixed price of $30 each. By filtered I mean the clients that we mail to have incomes of $15,000-$60,000. It's not an exact science and some still slip through the cracks but the majority of the people you get in front of will be in this income range and will be able to afford what we offer. Makes you more efficient with your time and money. Included in this price are age filters so your clients will be between 55 and 79 years old and the good part about that is anybody that you get outside of that age range the lead is free and you can still go sell it. There's been plenty of weeks where my lead order was free because of the free leads I sold.

Spur how do you train new agents? What's the process?

Well, if they are going to spend a lot of time with you, they also have to make a living. I have noticed that the up lines work differently when they have an agent ride along than the way I did it when I worked with agents. We always worked on a commission split basis, no matter whose prospect it was. Never expected an agent to ride along and not get paid.

I remember my first day in the FE business. The guy that goy me into the business was an old mortgage guy like myself. This was 2008 and the mortgage business was dead. He convinced me to get my insurance license so I did. He invited me to meet him at a church in Fllint. It was an all black church and he said he had three appointments there so I could watch him. He gave three presentations and wrote one policy.

I left thinking I would have gotten all three. That was the first and only time I have ever watched anyone in FE.. Based off of what I now think I know. If you new guys are looking for a ride along, there are maybe 5 guys I'd pay to ride with for a day.

Spur City- such a Magic Johnson smile I bet he just smooses them to death
Agentguy- knows exactly what to say and how to say it
JD- I think he's a shit or get off the pot kind of guy direct and to the point
TT- with those numbers Id listen and listen well
Bowman- easy going southern accent catch's them by surprise

I only personally know three of the 5 and have never worked with any of them. These are just my perceptions and it may or may not be reality.

I've worked with two of them, Spur and Ben....both great salesmen with lots to teach for sure. I've had beers with TT and despite the recent developments he struck me as the real deal and a decent guy. Basically I would find the person that fits your personality and values best and learn what you can from them. Great leaders lead from the front (i.e. get their hands dirty), the rest are just posers.

I would not cut your self short, you would 1.5 days per week and write very close to what they write, all off of per 1000 drops, I buy you a few beers to see how you do it and I don't even drink

Many fly in here to San Antonio to ride along with me. That's definitely one of the best ways to learn in my opinion. Riding with someone that has already accomplished what you would like to accomplish can accelerate your success. I've trained up some of the very best FE agents in the Country by putting them in my car. I also help close a lot of deals for agents over the phone. I close Thousands of dollars a day over the phone while the new agents confidence is still fragile. I help guide agents, based on clients meds & conditions, which carrier to choose and why. So instead of the new agent picking AIG GI because they aren't efficient on picking carriers yet, I'm able to pick the right carrier for them over the phone usually getting day 1 coverage which means more money in the agents pocket and no real chance for replacement. After hearing many of my closing techniques and seeing the money coming in they take off on their own, over time. We have a very comprehensive cheat sheet to help steer agents to certain carriers depending on the clients ailments.

Agents also record live doorknocking, live appointment setting, presentations and other things for my review. Our IMO has several TOP agents scattered all over the Country so if they can't fly to train with me there is usually someone nearby that is really good. We are working with one of our Top Producers now on some interesting things traveling around different areas of the Country to train agents for us. One will be an agent that won The Trinity Hawaii trip in 7 months.

We recently added a Medicare mentor to our IMO who has been a HUGE hit. He won 3 Medicare trips in 2017 to give you an idea of the quality individual he is. Obtained over 1000 clients in 2 years. All on $10 leads.

I can go on and on but don't wanna bore anyone else with my stuff ;)

Where do you guys feel like you have the best success receiving quality leads. Do you work with specific IMO's that do mailers for you on the FE side, or a lead company specifically. I am in NJ, have been mainly doing WL/IUL/GUL/TERM, feel like I am missing out on the FE market place here.

Thank you for any input
