2008 Lead Company Update

Good memory... HAHA, I can't even find time to finish this site! Back in the day, I was pretty excited about the leads comparison site. You can check it out at Insurance Leads However, I really need to finish the agent and consumer resources sections of this site before getting to any others.

This is a great idea! please find the time. It would be sweet If we could help with ratings/opinions on each lead company!
It would help keep our investments in line with the proper leads outlets and depending on its growth could influence change in the way lead companies do business. By the way it looks pretty shnazzy so far.

OK, so what was your ROI on the ones you kept?

So far 289% on one sale out of 20 possible (if its approved). THANKS that cheered me up BUT THATS ONE SALE OF TWENTY POSSIBLE. I have been workin these for bout a month now and one wont cut it. So far its a sales ratio game and these are around 5% currently (not good). Meaning the return is meaningless if the sales ratio isnt at least 10%. I could be more specific if needed. But so far I have spent more time calling bad leads and sending them back for credit than selling them.

Mr. Bill, just to double confirm charges from ileads and health or lifeleadsdirect both show up on your credit card statement as ileads, one just has an llc after it.

My "account rep" from ileads hasnt even bothered to respond to my email calling them out on it, must happen all the time.

I recently tried leadco and had a much better experience than any others at the start, closed the first one in one phone call and a couple emails. But, like all the others the bad leads come in and it's easy to get frustrated. I think I am going to start doing some walking before it gets too hot.

I still use Leadco. Not a big volume but Stacy is very good about crediting leads. Not a lot of filters and the format that you receive the leads is not very user-friendly.

But...most of them (that you get ahold of, that is) seem somewhat interested. Just stick to a 30-mile radius and your numbers might improve.

Have any of you guys tried 1800wesinsure.com? I am waiting to hear from someone there. It sounds like you "lease" an area, and when people call the 800 number, enter their zip code and the line of insurance they want the call goes directly to you.

Admittedly time spent calling folks who will end up being credited is a time waster, but so is spending time in traffic driving to appointments, playing Minesweeper instead of working, downloading porn and other things that do not put money in your pocket.

The ideal lead company doesn't exist. If it did their filters would eliminate the uninsurables, those with wrong or disconnected phone numbers, bum emails, no checking account, able to afford more than $40 per month . . .

You get the idea.

The closest I came to a perfect company was 4freequotes. At first, I was closing 1 out of 3 and enjoyed an ROI of 18:1. Their volume was never great but dropped off the edge so I fired them. Picked them up again later only to drop them again. The leads are among the best quality I have ever had but the volume is unpredictable.

I make no secret that I like Hometown Quotes. Used them for almost 2 years now. Their credit policy is tops and quality is decent. I get 8:1 return on investment.

Closing ratio is probably around 10% but can't say without going back over my records. Closing ratios do not pay the bills. ROI does.

If I can't make money on an investment then I move on. It doesn't matter what kind of promotion, if it doesn't pay off there is no reason to use it.

Now that agents have tools like Norvax the lead companies should let agents bid for the redirect - give Ehealth a little challenge.

Right now Ehealth pays "X" amount to the lead companies to direct prospects to their site. I say open the bidding. Some larger agencies - like the one TX runs, may like to get in on that kind of action.

What would I pay to hop on a lead source, have Norvax and all state traffic get directed to my site? Don't know but I'd like the option.

Actually that's interesting. Obviously the leads generated have to go somewhere - say 100 leads come from MD however only 70 leads are being requested. 30 lead surplus for that day that the lead company now has to do something with.

The question is - for $80 a month:

1) How many leads would you receive
2) How old would the leads be
3) Would there be verification that these leads have not already been sold
