2008 Lead Company Update

4Free used to be top notch. Never a lot of volume, but had good quality leads.

HTQ works well for me but everyone does their business differently. I can tell you it normally takes 3 - 6 weeks before they buy. Could be the folks I am talking to or just the way I work it. But my ROI is and always has been good with them.

I usually give a new lead vendor 40 - 50 leads before making a decision.

A lot could be your market. MI leads may be lousy for some venders.

I have them all turned off now. I am keeping busy working referrals and making calls to business owners I all ready know.

As far as the companies with all factors considered IMO they rank.

1. Vimo
2. 4 Free
3. HTQ

Until I have all my natural market sold, this seems like too much work.

Never a reason to chase people down when you can get your phone to ring. At this point in the game I sell 2 deals per week with my phone ringing from the local marketing I have going on.

I supplement with some telemarketing but I'd rather call an owner once and hear "no thank you" then hear "you're the 3rd agent to call."

Ironically people are less PO'd when I cold-call them then dealing with shared leads. Yes, you eventually run into those shared leads that are happy you called....just like I run into biz owners who are happy I called.

Difference is my calls are free sans $300 a month to Gary or just over $70 a week. $70 a week would by you just over 10 leads = squat.

And the ultimate irony is I put in far less hours then anyone working shared leads.

Kind of ironic when I started the internet lead experiment, my goal was 1 in 20. Not counting the credits as leads, I sold 6 out of 123, all most exactly 1 in 20.

I think I will get a few more out of these leads, but some prospects are taking their time.

Got a line on a lead company - already established the ROI - not gonna post it here; just gonna be one of those things where everyone jumps on and it goes in the toilet. If you're serious about leads and have a little cake PM or email me.

Don Lupre! I forgot about him.

Actually, each ad is different...usually about 25 words. Something like this:

Are you paying too much for your health insurance? For a free no-obligation quote, please call xxx-xxxx. I'm a local broker representing all of the major companies.

my thoughts exactly healthagent. I've been in financial sales for over 20 years and I've sold every financial product you can think of over the telephone. I was fortunate early in my career to have an incredible mentor who had second to none telephone sales skills. That experience was priceless to say the least. As I continue to explain to new agents, sales leads are only as good as the agent thats calling them. It is truly an art to be excellent at telephone sales and it definitely takes a long time to master. Regardless, I continue to purchase leads from different companies because at the very least I feel that Im have a true advantage over the average Joe agent when I'm speaking to someone who has expressed an interest either recently or awhile ago. Its better than a cross directory and my ROI has always been profiatble because of this. Anyway, hone up those telephone skills (books videos's etc.). It definitely the best investment you'll ever make.
