A couple of forum friends are live on youtube

Is it really a "business" if you can't replace yourself?

Insurance is definitely an "S" quadrant business.

My initial reaction to

I too would initially agree that anyone (let alone an 18 year old) could never write 1 million in FE premium on their own, it seems like there are people who come really close.

Look at the top 3 guys on One Life's leaderboard. 865k, 722k, and 505k. How in the hell does any one person write that much FE premium in one single year? Even those numbers are mind blowing. Now to go beyond that and get to 1 million; that truly would be a herculean feat that I find downright impossible. But then again maybe not. On that list, that guy Al Kurdi and Anthony are pretty damn close.

I'd love to know how these guys do it.
FE Premium? Then Matt Mungia is no longer the only guy to write $500K on his own pen in a year's time? First time I have ever seen a leader board that lists everybody with production.. Wonder what the one lady wrote to generate a whole $15.00 in annual premium? Most accident policies would cost more than that..

Must've been on a child.

I'd propose when you first start out it's a "S" quadrant but as time goes on it can move towards the "I" quadrant. I'm still getting paid on business I wrote 20 years ago.

Yep. You know what it actually takes for a high producing agent to leave Lincoln? All of their advance debt needs to be paid back. Their lead debt too. They will get vectored for either. If they replace any of their business, they will get charged back for all their business.

Another one of the semi-popular MP MLM'r added some crazy contract that states if they leave they have to pay back 18 months of commissions and can't contract with any other IMO for 2 years. Along with a non-compete and non-solicit.

Their argument in favor of this move? We're tired of training new agents only for them to leave for higher commission down the road.

The bigger these groups get, the more they start to lose agents to all of us. Then they start enacting strict rules.

We all talk about the 6 month release rule, but I'm starting to see some carriers allowing these MLMrs to add 12 month release agreements and rules that prevent agents from getting comp increases for 12 months if they move.

Strong argument to not put all of your contracts under one roof. Also, managers and management charges.

Seems we have all been living in a small world here on the forum...

Well from an indy agent with no interest in agency building or needing help with leads that could make sense.

A majority of agents don't fall into that mold. They need leads done for them. They need a system to replicate and training and support to grow.

Our Facebook group has 3700 agents in it. When they join, I ask them what they need help with. Most of them say leads. Over half say training and support.

Most are not going to get what they need by spreading their contracts around.

There's a reason why the set price DM Lead Programs are tied to an agent putting all their eggs in one basket. It is what it is.

From an IMO perspective, why would I want to train and support agents who throw us an app or two a month? I don't really even pursue the "Hey I want to get my ______ contract through you." Todd can have those guys ;)

Down to downgrade Matt's awesome accomplishment, I always wondered how he knew he was the only one to ever do $500K... Since agents spread business around to many companies you cannot base it on company leader boards. And, there are many agents out there plugging away day to day that never post anywhere about how much business they do.
