Aetna Invoice/Payment Issues

I had much of my business go to Aetna this OEP. Everything has been a train wreck.

-Pre-ACA clients losing coverage were put into off-exchange ACA plans, after making a on-exchange selection for 1/1.
-Many sent wrong bills and membership cards. Some paid these incorrect bills.
-Several HC.gov apps haven't transmitted correctly to Aetna.
-Most haven't received cards and bills.

Not only do we have a huge haircut in commission, we have to touch each file 50 times because of countless errors in this broken system.

It's too late to fix the cancellation issues for this year other than dealing with them case by case but I was able to prevent that issue by emailing Aetna with termination requests for all the old and transitioned policies in December, it worked well.

I wish I would had also obtained termination letters for the old plans. I was assured and reassured by my Rep that it wasn't needed. They said the new choice would be seen by their system and would supersede any auto-mapped off exchange plan. They were wrong, big time.

I hear you-I don't trust insurance companies to do anything the right way so took advantage of Aetna's easy termination process by email ([email protected]) with no need for a client signature.
