Agents Who Doorknock

Wow. I'm blown away by that. As a newby it's been extremely frustrating for me. How many times do you have to hit a door? Most of my leads, even from age 50 to 80 never seem to be home. I can run a set of 15 leads in 4.5 hours. The breakdown is roughly 10 no-answers, 3 'wife musta sent this in & she's not here' or 'you need to talk to my husband & he's not here', and 2 who say, 'life insurance? Oh, we have that. I thought this was something else!' (The lead card is vague & references a 'state approved' plan to cover your entire funeral cost.) Glad it's working for someone.

Maybe 15-20 doors per sale of you pick the right neighborhood and if you don't suck. That's my experience. I don't door knock on the summer because you end up looking pretty rough after a while.

It won't work at all if you aren't a little bit funny.

Door knocking lead cards. Yep. Very frustrating. Believe it or not, I think that works better if they're a month or more old. Fresh cards work better if you set appointments.

I've recently v been working TM leads and I can't even begin to explain how much better they work for me. I have appointments set. Sell about 35% of them. There is a big problem though. They trickle in slowly. Some folks say they have to be worked within 24 hours. I have not found that to be the case. I have saved them up for a week and a half and saw no difference in closing ratio.

Can you tell me where you're getting the TM leads from? Thanks!

I'm about to start working in pre need. I already door knock selling telecommunications and have been successful but I'm reading people making $4000/week from door knocking and that really inspires me. I was wondering how much I would make selling insurance (pre need). I want to make at least 60k/year for my family.

I once hit like 28 doors without getting in a single house. I usually will get in to about half the cards I have. Well the truth is most of the time I don't get in. I write the majority of my business from March to October in the front porch or sitting in lawn chairs in the yard. If it's nice enough just suggest it. People will feel less imposed on. Also take as little info to the door as possible. I use to take a brief case. Then I realized I look like I plan on staying for a month or are trying to sell something. More I just take the lead and a leather binder the gas a rare sheet two companies brochure and aps. Looks very small. I get more people to asnswer now.

It's gotten to a point where I have to door knock my leads. I used to do it only with the leads that I couldn't contact by phone. but it's getting worse. Last night, 22 dials, 2 picked up. The night before, about 40 dials, 6 picked up. I want to croak the guy who came up with caller ID.
I also notice a big slump in the number of callbacks I get from delivery notices. iLess than a year ago, about 80 to 90% were calling. Lately, it's been about half of that.

When you say you want to croak the guy who came up with caller ID, what number is displayed when you make calls?

If anyone is having trouble getting people to answer the phone go to mymothersphone.com. Just fill in the client's phone number and it will redirect calls from the website (using the clients mother's phone number as the outgoing caller ID).

In the event his or her mother has passed away it will use the next closest relative. It's really a cool idea using some offbeat technology. Each call costs a dollar so I think it's worth it.
