Americo Marketing

The problem with Americo is that you can send them an app that any other carrier would consider and you've pre-screened them and are SURE they will be approved and they get turned down. I've had it happen more than once. I went back to the client, wrote a policy with another carrier. It almost looks like they're trying to turn business away. They say they need more information that would require an APS and they don't order APSs for simplified issue. They are probably checking with one of their underwriting execs to see if the risk is acceptable. Which is better than a decline. But, this kind of thing happens all the time with them. I only use them when they're clearly the best for the client.

Another problem with Americo is that they will want any and all info about any previous policies taken and/or applied for in the last few years.

I just had a case like this and the client couldn't remember who they had before (I'm not talking about a current policy) or what was the outcome. All info Americo needed. They would not issue because of that.

The worst part was that I had to go back and rewrite them....and it was the bed bug people. So I filled out the app before I got there so they just had to sign and praise The Lord they were sitting on the front porch when I came by. I didn't have to go in the house. I still sprayed myself down with this bug spray that I got from the bug man though.

Anyway, I wonder I you could just make something up. For whatever reason, and I don't understand how it works, the MIB is showing Americo that they applied for insurance, but no who with or the outcome.

Couldn't you just say, they applied for Globe and AARP and when they read the fine print they didn't take it? Well I'm not gonna lie, so that won't work for me. But now if I'm leaning towards americo I will ask if they have had or applied for any other insurance before I take the app. What a pain!!!

OMG I just had them send me this email for the same thing! And this client already has an Americo policy ...She did not mention any other companies in the sale while we took app... Then I get the email back from Americo and I cant get back ahold of the client yet to grill her but I hope she can remember all that stuff! Anyway, what a pain.

Just tell americo the truth. Say client is unsure but they think it was globe life. Or whatever company

I did. And they still wouldn't issue without the name of the companies, whether it was level, graded etc and if it was taken or not.

I talked to customer service 3x. Each time they said that was fine and the next day I would get the same email. Finally they said they would not issue without this info.

Maybe you need to be specificand say globe, level, and not taken. Give them the Information and they will play ball with you. Your upline should be helping you with this

Like I said, I think you could say anything, as long as the answer is level. And they'll take it. But I'm not gonna lie. I'll just write it elsewhere.

If you dont know your own clients life insurance history, then americo or other carriers arent a good fit for you. You would have all sorts of problems if you wrote fully underwritten companys.

Most companies now require the company you are replacing so they can send notification of replacement

This is not about replacements. Of course if you are replacing you need to the info and do a replacement form.

This is a new business prevention rule from Americo. They want to know if the person applied for something a year ago and what was the outcome. Even if the person didn't take the coverage or if they took it for a few months and dropped it. Those questions are not on the application but Americo wants the info anyway.

The last one I had I got with EFES about it figuring that the largest FE IMO would have some pull with a stupid rule such as this.

EFES was given the same ole song and dance by Americo and they were fine with it.

I told the Americo that to the best of the client's knowledge they took out a Globe policy and then let it lapse and they may have applied for others but couldn't remember what they were. Americo issued the policy after that response.

Next time I get the question I will respond the same way. Just give the info as best the person remembers it. If that's not good enough I will not go back to the client to get it. I will go back to the client to write them elsewhere.
