Americo non smoker clause

If I understand it correctly you have to have not used tobacco products for 12 months prior so you really have to quit a year before the 3rd anniversary. Does the company order a urine sample for proof or just take the policyholders word? I don't sell it and have replaced every policy that I could.

I saw one as well, again some guys will sell the SHIT out of it for bad reasons, some will sell for the right reasons, and hey if a few quit good for them. But I'm sure big blue planned it so that a few years of this will balance years of nobody writing them tobacco, and years prior of only getting tobacco business.

Do you know when I find interesting is because we do so many replacements of far inferior products we are consistently concerned about being replaced ourselves. But for years and counting I can't remember one ethical replacement done by another independent agent to me.

Will these be inventory to replace when the death benefit drops and the client forgot I'm sure but will we actually run into that many of them I doubt it .

I ran across one of these policies a few months back. Black couple where the husband bought $30,000 WL from me with Lafayette. The wife had $30,000 WL on him with Americo with another agent who was also black so she felt obligated. I asked the husband if he was going to quit smoking and he said no. After a few weeks she called me and I wrote another policy on him with Lafayette.

Last week I stopped by and she had bought a $30,000 MOO Living Promise from the agent because she felt bad about dropping the Americo policy with him. She is still paying Lafayette so I told she was foolish to pay MOO $60 more monthly for the same thing. I will sell her a policy to replace MOO soon. That other agent has not sold her competitive products even though he knew I was in the picture. And yes I quoted her SofN because they were even cheaper than Lafayette, but she had never heard of them.

Client does have to be tobacco free for 12 months (any form of tobacco). Client would have to submit a urine sample before the policy anniversary to continue to receive non-smoker price and full death benefit OR client can reduced benefit to maintain same premium OR client can raise premium to smoker rates to maintain same death benefit.
