Any Good Books on Cold Calling, Etc?

Thanks J.D.

You told me to look for it before noon today, and voila, there it was.

It looks great and I look forward to picking up several excellent money-making idea's.

I hope some of the more experienced than I members of this forum are taking you up on your offer as well.

Thanks again!!

All books on cold calling follow 1 of 2 paths:

1. Going for an appointment without generating interest in the product/process on the phone.

or

2. Trying to generate interest to start the sales process on the phone.

Which approach you use depends on your product/sales process. If you are going to buy a book on the subject, make sure to pick one that fits your sales process.

Unfortunately I haven't been able to devote any time to it just yet.
I will start tomorrow(I hope). I'll make sure to post my thoughts on it.
Good looking out.

Just a heads up.

I'm just shy of halfway through reading J.D.'s book and I am very much impressed. A must read for the newbie and there's a plenty there for the veterens as well,in my opinion.
The first five responders were offered this free look, and if four more of you haven't taken advantage of it,I would give it a shot if I were you. Remember, this book was written with the newbie in mind.
Here is my review of what I've read so far, which I sent to J.D.

"As a newbie I appreciate your ideas and the psychology behind them. The word tracks pertaining to certain situations will be amazing for me to have in my vocabulary. I found that there are great tidbits to help me with all sorts of situations that will come up.All sorts of phone strategies as well, with subtle,non-threatening methods designed to make me more "efficient and effective",using your words.

Great suggestions pertaining to all aspects of the business with the perfect blend of humor for my liking. I actually laughed out loud a couple of times."

Another sales book I just finished reading that I thought was very good was The Ultimate Sales Machine by Chet Holmes. This book is great read for cold callers even though it not a book specifically about cold calling techniques.

I've been playing around with cold calling.

A lot of trial and error is all I can say.

It is nothing like it use to be. Just 10 years ago, everyone had a home phone and the wifes didn't have to work and were at home.

I'm also running into a lot of lonley people that just want to talk to someone and will act like they want to buy insurance, just to have someone come over.
