Anyone Work for Ameri-life?

Welcome to the forum and thank you for the kind words!

Good for you for taking the time do some reading/research on Amerilife. Your definition of "toxic" is spot on.

Landandseadog- always nice to see you here!

These people are most definitely still at it.

Got a phone call last week, and an email this morning.

Wouldn't touch them with a ten-meter cattle prod after what I've read on here. Thank you, Angel, for fighting the good fight and keeping unsuspecting new agents out of trouble.

Bob- thank you! If you read this thread, you know I took some grief from some posters for keeping this thread alive so knowing I have saved real folks like you from throwing your time and efforts out the window makes it worth it.

Avoid like the plague eh?
Good thing people believe everything on the intern. Haha
How does Bankers Life and moreso Primerica maintain an agent force when they are the true blood suckers in the industry.
Good experience means nobody tells
Bad experience means everyone tells everybody.
Think about that.

I am new in insurance. I reached this subject a little too late. I was recruited there and did not like anything about the way they treat 1099 people. They think they own them. Everyday at 8:00 in the morning, Saturdays, reports, etc, etc. In addition to the ridiculous charges to your bond. If you are not there at 8:00am they call you and demand you to go to the office. I called sick one day, did not answer their calls and the next day I was told I was done with them. For me, that was a blessing.

I need to know how I can request to be released from the contract since they let me go. I was under that contract for less than 4 months. I need to go indy, but need the release, right?

What can I expect?

Thanks

Good luck is my best comment.

How many contracts do you have through A-Life?

You can always get different carriers with another IMO.

Since they make all new agents use a computer system for batch appointments (Kaplan), I have quite a few appointments, like 15 in total, but only used a couple of them to write business. Other appointments are pending waiting for first piece of business.

Pardon my ignorance, am I suppose to contact all carriers right away to terminate the upline and the appointments?

Thanks

The first thing you do is ask for a release from all the carriers. It could happen although maybe not likely or quickly. But it's worth a call - they canceled you.

According to someone in the corporate office, they do not have a general release, they only release by carrier. They do not provide unconditional releases. They only release to their affiliated marketing company, North American Alliance, LLC. They do not release to any other company, agency, marketing company, carrier, telemarketing company, IMO, FMO or NMO.

So, with this I think the next best thing will be to call all carriers to terminate appointments and go with different carriers while the 6 months wait period is over. Right?

They did you a favor by terminating you. I didn't think that it was possible. What I would do is get a letter from them saying they terminated you, scan it and send it to every carrier you signed up through them. Florida is a right to work state and they can't stop you from making a living if they fired you.
I really wish someone would just shut them down already before someone gets hurt.
Good luck

No, LongTime, I don't believe everything I read on the "intern" (sic). Although, President Clinton had some fun fooling around with them...

You are correct in your assessment of the two abovementioned outfits.

I don't get the point of your post. Are you saying you think I should be involved with this bunch, in spite of all the red flags contained in nearly fifty pages in this thread, to date?

And just so you know, I am 100% independent, not affiliated with any scheme like BL, Primerica, or AmeriDeath.

And what the heck is this "bond" the victims keep referring to? That alone would give me pause...
