Arnold Schwarzenegger said cutting out bread helped him lose weight, but dietitians say a calorie deficit is more important than banning carbs

Some people find it easy to overeat bread, so cutting it out helps them hit their calorie deficit."You can technically cut out any calorie containing food to lose weight," Dr. Spencer Nadolsky, a cardio-metabolic medicine physician specializing in obesity and lipidology, told Insider. "If bread is something Arnold feels he overindulges in and has a tough time controlling, then cutting it out may be helpful, but it's not magic."

Here is what is missing

for many of us we get an insulin spike( now It does not have to be to diabetes level to have an effect) from the carbs this causes the body to store as fat Then you get hungry and need to eat more

That is the whole point of Keto The body stops that and uses the good stuff we eat fats and proteins for energy and all the other things it does so the food is not wasted number one

And number 2 the hunger is much more controllable

I have been on every diet and had bad results with many few I lost some weight but gained back more than a lost all within 6 months the longest that was under a Mediterranean type diet which I had no whites IE white bread pasta yada yada everything thing was whole wheat

However I have been on this Keto since jan of last year, I have lost 125 LBS so far and I am in total control I was 360 now 235

When I want to lose I just simply bring my carbs below 15 and or implement a 16/8 fast which I can do fairly easy on this diet as opposed to others

and even when I do any of that I eat full meals to complete satisfaction which didn't happen on any other diet always left meals hungry

When I don't want to lose weight I can eat whenever I want I don't have to hold back, I just keep myself under 25 carbs and I NEVER gain weight

I did maintenance from oct till march never gained without holding back at all Because the food is much more satisfying to my body

Now is someone has a perfect metabolism I don't think it would make as much a difference but then again I would doubt that person would need to lose more than 20 LBS or so

Besides that, I get better vitamin and vitamin absorption, Before keto doing Mediterranian I was shocked to see my bloodwork shows B vitamin and iron deficiencies not to concern levels but I eat a lot of iron from plant sources I have come to find out its the Heme iron your body absorbs

By iron is back up my b12 is good now as well as some other vitamins the only things I take pills for is D, C, and Magnesium Before I took multivitamins every day and it didn't help enough

And the very best part is BACON

I am joking there are a lot of foods I love I can eat never feel deprived past the first month on occasion I might miss Pizza but I have some Italian recipes that fit that and I have Chinese and mex food recipes too
