CA Commish Rumors

Thankfully, it's likely that the lowest commission, lowest priced policies will also have the smallest provider networks. Families who have a regular physician, or people who want a local hospital, or business people who travel, will be very particular about Network Composition and Flexibility.

The governor of Wisconsin said today that the Feds (who are running the Wi exchange) are keeping him in the dark on all the network and premium stuff. They're "negotiating" with carriers right up until the last possible moment.

What a great business idea. Keep all agents in the dark about the products they have to sell, the prices, and the compensation, until the launch date. Keep Governors and the American People in the dark too, until it's ready to launch, because this is, afterall, only the largest piece of legislation ever to be passed, directly affecting 1/5th of the overall economy and directly or indirectly affecting 100% of the people.

And navigators. Navigators who know next to nothing about health insurance, and need to be trained before they are unleashed on an unsuspecting public.

being in the dark is fine with me.... we go through it in mapd plans.... the only thing I need to know is the comp. with that I know if im selling health insurance or medicare this aep

now I would prefer to have the plans and rates to be better prepared. it is dumb to not release them and I feel the reason to delay is to advoid the sticker shock of releasing them before subsidies are applied. It is no different that a fat woman wearing a girdle. it hides whats underneath.

we as veteran agents know how insurance works so we can figure it out on the fly... but navigators and whatever else they call them are screwed... like a lost child in the shopping mall.... confused and disoriented

The Commission Guessing Game
By Phil Daigle on August 21, 2013 7:41 PM | No Comments
Question: Have IFP agent commissions been announced yet?

When asked how he could afford to sell so cheap, he answered, "I lose money on every sale, but I make it up on volume".

Every time I her that line I just cringe!

If you lose money on a sale you amplify your loss the more you sell.

If you sell $10 bills for $5 you can never make up the loss on volume, you just lose more.

Daigle= Frenchy??:skeptical:

I wonder how the Big Internet Sales companies will do with ACA?

Making 4% on policies...i don't know how they will manage to keep the doors open and advertise like they do???

It's about time you 2 woke up (and used your brains wisely)!

I made this decision over 1 year ago (to let the renewals play out & then let Nancy & Obama fight over how much they could increase my handouts every year).

But, God Bless you (and precious Ann), anyway! You've spent a lot of brain-power figuring out (much of) the red tape!

Ann should be earning royalties; and you 2 should be her highly-paid associates!

I figure that no matter how much ACA pays out, it's NOT worth the E&O liability (nor the Big Brother over my shoulder).

And, I'm almost 65. My large book of renewals should take a while to "play out". Then, I'm joining the 50% with their hands out. I never dreamed I'd say that, but I just did.
