Email today stating today is the last day of issuing business. Any application not a.pproved by end of day will be returned to the agent. That is about as sudden as you can get but it has been a long time coming. They have had several downgrades by AM Best over the past year or so. Wonder who Alan Town will push now?

I’m pretty sure Alan Town sold his agency off to Innovative quite a few years ago. He cashed his chips in at the right time.

You mean he sold to Integrity. Yeah he sold back in 2018. He was one of the first purchases by integrity I believe . Columbian was one of the last outfits to have w-2 regional directors . I used to love have regionals . Basically only regionals Left are carreer type CO’s like northwestern , mass mutual . I constantly get emails from penn mutual regional to meet . Medicare carriers still have regionals . With all the Medicare chaos let’s see for how long. Scott didn’t used to have a meeting for your top agents each yr ? You still do that ? I think inflation , adverse claims have hit fe carriers hard the past few yrs .

Town is shown as a managing partner with Integrity. His website is Agent Service Connection.

I enjoyed placing business with Columbian. Final Expense, Fu WL and SI Term. They were really easy to do business with and you could do almost all service work with a simple phone call. You could talk directly with the decision maker instead of a CSR. Had a couple of great RDs.

NAA pushed Columbian HARD. Came across quite a few clean sheeted or lied on apps from NAA agents who sold them a lot.

Try explaining to a prospect that the insurance they have is no good and that they should actually be on a 2 year wait but the agent lied about the reason for them taking gabapentin...

It may have been a regional thing. But every Columbian policy I ever ran across was clean-sheeted.

Can't speak for others but I can guarantee you that mine were not.
Rousemark on another subject . I haven’t seen you posting from the hospital lately . You must be doing better the last 6-12 months ? Find some old direct mail leads at $2-$3 and knock on a few doors and feel the rush again . It’s funny the last 5-10 yrs how the industry has changed so much. I bet you 10 yrs ago 95% of all insurance sales (P@c,life,health etc)were face to face . I bet you today not more than 20% of all insurance sales face to face .

Don, it has been one year since I was hospitalized but have had several trips to ER since then. It has also been over a year since I have drove a car. Hard to get out and knock doors. Plus I have to use a walker at times so that is another hinderance. Would be hard to get up people's steps.

I agree that 10 years ago most business was face to face. Don't think that 80% is now by phone but it moving in that direction. I just have never been comfortable prospecting and selling in that manner.

Would not have to buy old leads. I still remember how to canvas.
