Direct mail vs Social Insurance Facebook leads

I was stuck with exclusively internet based leads before due to budget and now have the money to go DM. What I DONT like about FB leads is the amount of people that 'think it's free' or are in the habit of filling out so much shit online they get call bombed and therefore never answer their phone. It seems DM would also cut down on the invalids that fill out shit on Facebook and it seems DM would be a much higher intent lead but correct me if I'm wrong. So how do you guys feel about the intent level, ability to contact, and sale ratios?

Direct mail is definitely the higher intent lead. But people will still tell you they thought it was free. Just a normal canned response. Nothing to shake an agent up at all. You should expect that. I've mailed lead cards that had sample rates right on the card. Same thing.

Also is the average age lower? Please specify type of FB lead bc I've used SIL as well as another vender and the other vendor was much higher average age and much poorer health than SIL so there's a difference in where you get em for sure

I am having much better success with FB leads than I did with DM. The average person age 50-85 probably receive at least 4 DM peices monthly and some return every one. So don't think you are going to be the only agent knocking on their door.

For me and lots of agents TV leads have the highest closing %. Still slightly over half don't buy. But you never ever hear "we thought this was something free from the gov't.". They know this is about life insurance. You can also call them 1-2 months after they called the commercial and over half remember calling..They don't call 5 TV commercials each month like they mail in 5 DM cards each month.

The draw back is you rarely get 20 TV leads in the same zip code as you would DM, They are more spread out. Sr Life has TV leads for only $34 each. If anyone is interested contact me, my number is below.

There is no magic lead. If there was everyone/carrier would be using them by now.

People the get their rent free from the government, their food stamps free from the government, their health insurance free from the government, etc. somehow don't ask if their life insurance is free from the government?

Those are some magic leads right there. Yep!

I've run all types of leads. People ask if it's free with all of them. It's just a human nature thing to let you know they might not buy and don't want you to think they are committed as soon as you show up. It is not a problem at all for an experienced agent. It rattles the confidence of brand new greenhorn agents until they make a few sales and realize those words don't really mean anything.

I spent some time in automobile sales. "Is it FREE" is the FE equivalent of "I can't pay more than $300/month" ... they all know they ain't getting that $30,000 car with no money down for $300/month, but they feel better for having said it.

The OP is in trouble regardless of the lead type she uses as she is convinced that there are "good" leads and "bad" leads and thus far all of her leads have been "bad" leads.
