Direct mail vs Social Insurance Facebook leads

People the get their rent free from the government, their food stamps free from the government, their health insurance free from the government, etc. somehow don't ask if their life insurance is free from the government?

Those are some magic leads right there. Yep!

I've run all types of leads. People ask if it's free with all of them. It's just a human nature thing to let you know they might not buy and don't want you to think they are committed as soon as you show up. It is not a problem at all for an experienced agent. It rattles the confidence of brand new greenhorn agents until they make a few sales and realize those words don't really mean anything.

I agree except with TV leads people never ask if it's something free from the gov't.

No matter what type lead I have worked I close 20% or more of them. The last FB order I placed I paid $320 and received 28 leads and have sold 10 of them. I made 30 times more than what I spent. Most orders I make 8 to 10 times what I spend so this last order is not realistic, but I am reaping the rewards.

Now that Thad has changed his pricing and marketing for FL agents I am not sure what to expect. I placed an order with another vendor Friday so I am hoping for the best.

Now that Thad has changed his pricing and marketing for FL agents I am not sure what to expect.

I got an email from him a week or two back announcing these changes. I went to his website and now it looks as though the price is all you can get for $500 with no guaranteed minimum - so you could end up with a $500 ad spend and NO leads! Also, you have to come up with the add copy, etc.

Hardly seems like a bargain. He also charges $24 for leads with the calend.ly option which calendarleads.com includes for the base price of $20/lead.

There are vendors out there selling more generic FB Leads for as little as $17/lead I've seen advertised. I'm not sure what Thad is doing. He was first in on this but his deal hass gotten progressively worse for the agent.

I think at $20/lead I'm at about my limit to spend on an FB Lead. More than that, or with no guarantee of a minimum number of leads, and I'll spend the $1500 or so to take the course that teaches you how to rund your own FB FE campaigns. For $20/lead, I'm glad not to do it myself.

If I had to spend $500 for a "hope and pray" FB campaign? I'd spend that $500 on direct mail.

Thad's ads on FB promoting his leads makes the changes look like the best thing that could have happened for the agent. He is not fooling me though. I will go elsewhere until he goes back to what he was doing before the changes.

I was stuck with exclusively internet based leads before due to budget and now have the money to go DM. What I DONT like about FB leads is the amount of people that 'think it's free' or are in the habit of filling out so much shit online they get call bombed and therefore never answer their phone. It seems DM would also cut down on the invalids that fill out shit on Facebook and it seems DM would be a much higher intent lead but correct me if I'm wrong. So how do you guys feel about the intent level, ability to contact, and sale ratios?

I think you need to work on how to overcome the "free" objection... Here are a few tips as to what I like to do.

1. While laughing say, "Oh, Miss Mary ain't nothing in this life for free am I right?!" Hopefully they'll laugh with you and you can continue on - I like to explain the difference between an agent and a broker at this point so that way she knows I'm going to fight for her to make sure she is in a great situation once I am done. If she still isn't budging you probably have a time waster and you move on to the next person.

2. This may be an ideal situation to put this person on your list to try and help with medicare - not to get too far in the weeds, but there is often a lot of savings you can find folks if you know where to look. With this advice, you need to make sure you are over-compliant, but there are often FE sales that come out of these savings. The average agent makes no sale in a lot of these situations, the elite agent makes 2 per prospect... Again, make sure you are compliant.

3. Ask the prospect if they have experienced the death of a loved one - usually they will say yes. If this is so, ask how the funeral arrangements were handled. Also ask if they left any additional bills behind. If you get them talking about an experience they had, you can probably get a sale. Help them create a massive problem so you can become their professional problem solver.

4. They probably have a policy in place - hopefully Lincoln Heritage (LH) - and you can put them in a better situation. If you are a broker, you most likely have great tools at your disposal to do this.

Hope this helps.

He also used to have videos up arguing why his leads were better because they didn't have the calend.ly option. Not long after he was offering the calend.ly option.

When he started in June 2018, it was all the leads you could get for $300, plus it included multiple text and/or email follow ups.

I am not certain, but I suspect the problems started when Thad decided to let the marketers become re-sellers. But what do I know?

Well, what I know is that if I get 20 calendar leads from @HoosierLife and I work those leads by door knock only, I will write at least $3000 in premium per lead order by the time I have either sold or trashed each lead.

But Thad's deal is no deal for the agent, imo. Especially as he has it currently structured.

The TV lead prospects never asks if it's free....so I wouldn't know about replacing the lead. Common sense says no just like a DM lead asks if it's free it's not replaced.

Realistically, how many Josh-style leads (on average) would you need every month to earn $10,000 in commissions?

By what he posted I would estimate 70ish. Some sales will be GI and that pays much less. Like I posted earlier I have written over $10,000AP on 28 leads, but that doesn't happen very often.
