Don't expect a big commision check from Coventry with week

From what I understand is that Coventry will release it's commissions next week (heard that before). Then checks will be released.

Interesting... I called Coventry at 4:30 today, and was told that the checks were in the mail. Imagine that!

In regard to the agent tracking software, yes it has some problems. What piece of new software has ever worked out of the box? I'm glad we will be getting something, just can't wait until the bugs are worked out. It will be great to be able to pull up a client and determine if he is still on the books. Beats making several phone calls and never really getting any where.

Yes, I too, have not seen any of my enrollments show up on the website tracker. I am not convinced this is going to rule whether or not I get paid. I am sure Coventry keeps tabs on things better than that. Just be patient with the tracker software.... it will work some day. Keep Microsoft in mind.... they will have a good OS some day, too!

I am glad that Coventry is at least paying something to us, with the balance later after things are finalized by CMS. I spent a lot of money on gas in the last month and a half.... I don't know about you, but this got into my pocket quite a bit. Most of my sales calls were 45 or more miles away, making it a round trip close to 100. I appreciate Coventry recognizing that and not making us wait until January to get SOMETHING. I realize Thanksgiving was over a week ago, and a lot of people have short memories, but we would do well to be a little more thankful for small favors!!

OMG!! We don't get 1st year commish on replacements? Did you just come out of a coma Mjay? I thought we had this figured out a month ago?
I have no deposits from Coventry yet either. I figue it will be another week or two. Glad I write FE and med supps too.

Thanks for also finding the humor in that. :)

For Russ,

If you've been selling Med Supps, and you have clients who are happy with them, DO NOT move them over to a Medicare Advantage Plan. These folks are used to paying nothing when services are delivered. Why, in God's green earth would you take them out of their comfort zone?

Those who should be on a Medicare Advantage Plan are those that understand the "pay-as-you-go" system, just like a Major Medical plan. Those who like to pay a monthly premium, and have to pay nothing when services are provided (that's why Medicare is called an "entitlement" program) should remain/be put on a Medicare Supplement Plan.

I don't know how simpler it can be made?

To the not getting paid commission issue:

I guess since I expect their to be wrinkles in the process, I don't expect to get any Medicare Advantage monies until January, since the applications are not processed until late November, month of December. For Humana, I use their T-sig pad, and it seems to get put on my commission statement during the next pay cycle. BUT (disclaimer), I also sell Humana Major Medical and Small Group, so maybe that's why.

I don't know.

You have to remember, the governement is running the Medicare Advantage show. What do you expect? Efficiency?

I agree. You should be on the phone with Coventry on a daily basis. In fact, it should be your 8:30 call every morning. In fact, I would let it leak out that you will contact the media, to get this story out, so that other agents, nationwide will know not to work with them.

There's nothing insurance companies hate more than bad press, local or national.

The only one's I've talked to are those complaining about the cost of their supplements and those are just a handful. Otherwise, I leave them alone.

I just got my big $ 170.00 MA commision check today. Gee that was fast. The scary part is it was from CMS instead of Coventry. That means it will be a nightmare trying to get any commision issues resolved.
