EV Takes 4 Days to Charge

I know this group is mostly olden men, but does no one think that things progress over time? EV is in its infancy.
People were against new electric trains when underground coal powered trains were the norm.

I think the big problem most have, is that they're moving too fast.........they don't have the charging stations/grids set up. They need to burn more coal to provide the power to be able to charge the EV's.

In the Golden State of Kalifornia there are approximately 13,000,000 apartment households. Easily it takes two+ incomes to survive here. So assume a minimum of 2 cars per household. How are they going to overnight charge their mandated EVs. Drive around any apartment complex here, especially middle-income and below and the streets are packed with parked cars. Extension cords? The homeless strip copper wire from street lights here.

Sure, the elites have the money to buy Teslas and have multiple charging at their homes. The working class has a hard time paying the super high registration and insurance to drive to work.

My college daughter shares a house with a few roommates. They split the couple thousand a month rent. They each have a car, Zero chargers. I do not believe the landlord will eat the cost to install one capable to charge 4 cars, for free.

None of this is a problem for me personally. So I guess the sky is not falling.

Let them eat cake.

Old guy here . . . not adverse to change . . . LUV my PC, remote control TV, food and everything else delivered to my door.

FWIW, electric trains (big ones, not the one I got for Christmas) have not replaced diesel trains. The coal fired trains have been relegated to theme parks and some scenic routes, but diesel is the prevalent fuel source . . . at least until we run out of it because of DC interference.

Almost everyone agrees the current grid cannot support EV's and everything else. Most of the electricity in the country is coal powered and, to a lesser extent, hydro and nuclear.

Even Europe is relying on nuclear and not cutting back to satisfy the "green folks".

It's not so much resistance to change, but the stupidity of some folks who are banning ICE vehicles and handing out millions (billions?) in tax dollars to support this movement.

Well, being an 'olden man' :), I have seen and embraced new tech beyond the wildest dreams even before the internet and cell phones.

I am far from against EVs. I see a hybred in my near future. As a secondary car, an around-town car.

I am against mandates. Especially non-thought-out mandates.

CA is the leading edge state on EVs and we are woefully unprepared for 100% EVs. We cant even do nuclear power. The majority of our high-demand electricity is from Nature gas.

BTW, the first EV and the first batteries were before my grandpa. Very little totally new today.

Again, I want an EV. I will probably own one before all the people telling me I should have one. I am just not going to 100 % rely on one. Yet.

How exactly may switching from fossil fuels partially reduce hurricanes? As CO2 has supposedly risen (supposedly because measuring CO2 is not actually very precise) hurricanes have become neither more frequent nor more powerful.

So the observational data (real science) does not jibe with the predictions made by the theory. Usually in real science such disparities would be reason to adjust or junk the theory. Scientific theories are supposed to be able to predict future observations, but in the case of anthropomorphic global warming, they do not.
You are of the theory that the Earth is not surrounded by the equivalent of a sealed plastic bag, and that somehow, the pollution is able to escape into space and that a fresh supply of air is delivered weekly by UPS?
