Just spoke to a guy that does the press 1 leads for FE and he said that they are not in violation of the law because they do not have any licensed agents answering the phone and they do not do a live transfer. He says they have 2 attorneys that have investigated it fully with the FEDS..Doesn't make sense to me...

What do you guys think?

Let me make a wild guess here. Was this guy you spoke to a part of Trusted Lead Source? If so, don't believe one word you hear from them.

Robo calling is legal if a live person is on the line and ask the person if they would like to here a message about F-EXP etc. Then if the person wants more info they can leave their contact info, or press a number to be removed from the list. If it's not a live person it's not legal. If it's a live person it is legal. It's that simple.

If a live person is involved, that is not a really a ROBO call. It is simply using a dialer to make the call and a live person processes it. The same as a lot of agents do when calling a list. The only difference is most agents complete the entire call in person instead requesting permission to transfer to a recording.

I thought I read somewhere that the press 1's are illegal but press 2's are not. Press 2's cost a lot more though, which is understandable since 2 is twice as much as 1....
