It's not ironic, it's foolish. They just need to enforce the existing laws. Plenty of people are complaining, but no one is following up until it in any meaningful way... yet.

So how do you handle the fact that so many telemarketers are now spoofing their number to prevent accurate reporting?

There are enough consumers that are going to press 1, get the company information, then report it for them to be able to follow up on it. They're not even trying (or so it would seem).
