2 things, you're dropping in a very small zip code or your lead source has absolutely no idea what they are doing. Most have no clue. I feel for you.

LH gets less of a response in this area than that. Oh my! How does that happen with their wonderful marketing knowledge?

I know the answer, anyone that says that are doing better than that is just not telling the truth.

I'm not one that likes to talk crap about a company, but I will say that I did 2 DM lead drops while with LH, first time I used one zip code and got 7 responses out of the 25 I ordered. Second time I used a diff zip code and got 9 out of 25. I was pissed!

Question, does EFES use First Class Mail for their lead drops or just standard bulk mail?

I dont know, but Im sure JD does. It doesnt matter with EFES as you only pay per lead no matter how much mail they have to drop.

They use 1st class mail. They have experimented with the bulk mail in the past and I don't think that worked out so well.

They are big on the new telelead thing now. Some agents rave about them. I tried 10 of them last Oct as part of the pilot program for them. They were OK but I understand they have changed a lot since then. I'm going to use some next week.

Given that 75% of seniors (of all income levels) are on the DNC list, I wonder how practical this is?

They are only calling the ones that were non responders to the mail drops and they do scrub against the do not call list.

That is an issue. I was told yesterday that where they may have mailedd 5000 pieces they may only have 1000 phone numbers that they can call. I asked for 15 of them next week. They can't promise that they can get me 15 just because of the numbers. I don't know how many dials it's taking them to get one lead.

It seems like a good thing. It's not a recording or press 1. They call the person up, tell them they have recently sent them the info and ask if they would like to speak to an agent. They ask if they have a bank account and then give them the name of the agent that will be contacting them. We then get that as a lead and we can listen to the call to see if the person really did agree to have someone contact them and also to get an idea of, mental picture if you will, what we are dealing with.

It's still too new to have good data as to how it's going to shake out. There has been some glitches along the way. I'm still not sold on them 100% but I did want to try some more and see how the changes have done.

Granted that the DNC list does kill a lot of our data, we still pull a decent # of folks ages 50-80 and a household income of $25-$75K. I had to bring on 2 more and still need another 3 more telemarketers to keep up with demand and another assistant to scrub them all. My agents write an average of $100 PPL every week. I'll take that all day long. So will the agent at $12-$16 per lead....

So the number of folks on the DNC still doesn't hurt response levels.

FYI.
