Final Expense: Foresters Vs RNA?

JD,

When you write up two applications (married couple) and do two interviews on one recording have you found that it delays one of the certificates to be issued?

I haven't seen a difference other than the intial phone interview taking twice as long.

When they give you the policy number on the phone the policy is approved. It will show up on your pending list the next day showing that all they need is the application.

Neither, had a bad experience with both. Sent in a piece of business to Foresters and it sat there for 2 months and when I called and inquired, they said "oh here it is, we will get right on it" RNA can't get a return phone call.

Maybe RNA doesn't like you! LOL

Seriously, I have no problem in getting return phone calls from them. It's Foresters that promises a return phone call within 4 hours then never returns it at all!!

Most of the time Foresters is cheaper than RNA. I play with the quoting engine all the time and most cases Foresters beats them when I'm doing quotes.

Well, when you get tired of dealing with Foresters (and yes, I do everyday), you'll find that those few cents cheaper just aren't worth the hassles. More and more agents are starting to find this out.

All I do is FE and I quote RNA and Foresters everyday several times and I almost never find Foresters to be a better deal. Except on male smokers over 60, but Foresters is too high on them, too. I use Americo for that group. Even AmCon is better than Foresters for male smokers.

RNA is a great company to write for. We have done a lot of business with them. What I have found is that a lot agents don't write "properly" with them so apps get held or closed etc...

My advice is to find someone there and just work with that person. Contact one of the home office sales managers or sales directors...directly with RNA, and simply ask them "who can I work with on issuing my apps quickly? I only want to work with one person. Do you have a name and extension?" I do this with all my carriers and I have key "go-to" people at each one. Unfortunately, I have to agree about Foresters. I have never understood why so many agents love them so much. They've already blown their wad and can't handle the amount of business coming in. That's why you never get through. You never get a call back. Less stuff is getting issued and if it does...it takes longer. Classic text book case of a company jumping into FE and not really knowing what they're doing. Monumental is heading right down that same track. Watch and see...
