Final Expense Leads!

This is true, but over the years the returns are getting worse. If an agent is not running dm Leads now they should because I honestly am not sure how much longer they will be around for under $30. There is a reason agents don’t drop per thousand anymore.

I am not sure DM will ever go away, if it did we would all be struggling with relying on tele marketed leads (not sure any of us want that nightmare). Uncle Sam controls the postage which will ultimately drive up the cost every couple years by a bit, but with so many seniors falling into our demographics each day i hope and plan on the return rates leveling off... they already are low enough across the board

If you're selling in the field, I don't know how any other lead source will ever surpass the quality of Direct Mail.

I've run TM leads (for years) and their hay day is gone. I remember the ole days when there were only 3-4 FE lead vendors and nobody cared about the DNC (though I didnt know that at the time lol).

Now seniors are getting slammed with every Pakistani, Filipino and Indian call center out there.

Then you have internet leads. Facebook leads are great. I use them, just not for Final Expense prospects. Imagine a low income senior scrolling through their facebook feed, seeing an ad and then clicking on it. Their info is auto-populated on the form and they're done.

At the end of the day, the less the Final Expense prospect has to do for the lead to be developed, the lower the quality.

With a direct mail lead, they read it, they thought about it, something pulled at their heart strings, they threw it on the coffee table for 3-4 weeks lol, the picked it up and read it again and went and found a pen and even stuck it in the mailbox. They DID something.

It will always be the best lead for our demographic.

Good to see something from the "old days" is still the best...

A decade ago it would cost 375 to mail a thousand peices and you could get 2% return back conservatively. Today it’s 475 with returns as low as half a %.

Fixed mailer cost was the solution to this problem and it works because these companies can choose how much to mail out to get the amount of leads you are looking for. The cost on fixed mailers have gone up and there are many areas in the country that mailer companies refuse to mail in or will charge an arm and a leg per lead.

Mailers are working right now and every agent should be using it because my guess is in 5 to 10 years if they are still around the price will be Much more than it is today.

Even with our final expense customers, internet marketing is going to take over at some point and mailers will die off. Just my opinion.

Bottom line use mailers while they still work!!!

Raising lead cost.
* I do not buy leads.

Just a question - while it sounds that lead cost have gone up over the years. Haven't business cost gone way down. Such as uploading vs mailing apps, email, unlimited cell minutes, more clients with cell phones, eapps. Also, back in the olden days we sold $5,000 burial plans. Today $15,000 the bottom starting point really pushing towards $20,000. So AP is higher.

So isn't some of the higher lead cost off set?

I couldn't like or comment your comment about girl from your High School days that liked to hand out "Free Sniffs", and now I see that the post is gone. I guess we're not supposed to comment about THAT kind of "Sniffing".:twitchy:

:D I deleted it.

I could not truthfully use the required *, as I do have some experience there.

i remember those days

i was doing mailers for 300 per thousand back in the day for my guys and the glory days of the high returns and low mail costs per thousand are definitely gone... i also agree to an extent that internet marketing will eventually turn the corner with the quality at some point but the problem will always be the same with internet leads... getting 20 leads in one area i don't think will ever happen on the net... i hope i am wrong but thats my guess
