Pussy!
Edit: Nevermind. I won't try to convince you any different. The longer IMOs stick to DM as a main source of leads the longer I can ride the waveIf you're selling in the field, I don't know how any other lead source will ever surpass the quality of Direct Mail.
I've run TM leads (for years) and their hay day is gone. I remember the ole days when there were only 3-4 FE lead vendors and nobody cared about the DNC (though I didnt know that at the time lol).
Now seniors are getting slammed with every Pakistani, Filipino and Indian call center out there.
Then you have internet leads. Facebook leads are great. I use them, just not for Final Expense prospects. Imagine a low income senior scrolling through their facebook feed, seeing an ad and then clicking on it. Their info is auto-populated on the form and they're done.
At the end of the day, the less the Final Expense prospect has to do for the lead to be developed, the lower the quality.
With a direct mail lead, they read it, they thought about it, something pulled at their heart strings, they threw it on the coffee table for 3-4 weeks lol, the picked it up and read it again and went and found a pen and even stuck it in the mailbox. They DID something.
It will always be the best lead for our demographic.
@theinsuranceman The only thing I don't like about TV leads are the number of sick people with no bank accounts. Seems like the majority of folks that are sitting at home watching cable/satellite TV are those with very little income.
Heck, most people I know don't even have cable/satellite anymore ever since Netflix & other streaming services came out.
But, I do like the freshness of it. That is definitely attractive verses getting a DM lead 4 weeks later!
There is no point or relevance citing the habits of people you know. The people you know are not FE people.
By far the biggest learning curve in FE is just understanding the customers base. They are unlike any other demographic.

I agree with this
i ran a Call Center for five years selling direct... TV leads were some of the worst prospects ever because of that reason... we had such a high percentage of clients that were under age disability, overweight (because they prob watch tv all day every day), Direct express cards, just flat out unhealthy... the other issue with this source that i mentioned earlier is you can never get a bunch of leads isolated in one area with tV... it doesn't work that same way at precise marketing can...
I believe TV leads will slowly replace DM as the preferred lead for FE. I also believe tele-sales will slowly replace part of the face to face crowd.
And I also believe working a TV leads just 30 sec. old will be the best lead around. No wasted time chasing people down as they are home when you call them 30-60 sec. after they hung up their phone from calling the TV commercial. Buying temperature is about as hot as it can be. Don't have to drive from point A to point B, etc.
Yikes! Im not sure where you went wrong, but TV is by far the best lead for telesales. We run almost exclusively inbound TV leads, and we've found that our typical client is not what you've outlined.
Im sure it has alot to do with what TV shows you are targeting. We've learned to stay away from Jerry Springer and Steve Wilkos.
