First day cold calling a FLOP

True - I'm talking about until I ran the association full time - 100% cold calling.

We also have many members doing nothing but cold calling and doing very well. If they choose to post here fine - many aren't even registered here. However, Matt posts here and he only cold-calls and works referrals.

You have the wrong view that because you don't cold cold no one else does it successfully. That is not the case.

Haven't you learned by now that you can't BS me?

What about your prodigious posts on door hangers? Is that what you call "100% cold calling"?

I've had extensive discussions with Matt. While he does cold call successfully - he does a LOT more than just that and referrals.

:D

Can you find a single agent that has gotten those results from cold calling?

Cold calling has been really good to me, although Paul is right that I do more on top of it, but it is still my main work horse. I haven't added up my stats in a while and don't have them with me now, but I'm averaging about three IFP apps a week and a group just about each week and a half.

The majority has come from telemarketing, but referrals continue to grow. About 70% comes from telemarketing, the other 30% mainly from referrals, cross selling current clients life, DI, LTC, dental, ect. (most of whom originally came from a cold call), and some B2B mixed in.

There is no way I could have gotten off the ground without telemarketing as I was extremely broke just coming out of college. I continue to do it because it's still effective for me, however, I realize I need to do more to grow my business to the level I desire.

Paul, we were really discussing that you can cold call successfully, and you mentioned Matt and the other stuff he does, but what did he do before he was able to work referrals?

He must have been cold calling at a higher percentage right?

;)

Cold calling not only works but is extremely effective. "never cold call" is promoted by weak people who don't have the nuts to cold call. Because the lack the intestinal fortitude they dismiss it as "ineffective." If not ineffective - it's just that they suck at it.

Watch what you say about me!

Rick
