First Day Coverage for Sleep Apnea

Oxygen use is oxygen use, sleep apnea or otherwise. When an Rx screen is pulled the O2 is going to pop up. I may not be familiar with every carriers rules on this but I don't know of one that would issue this as immediate covg if the question is answered correctly.

I've read over this thread I am still unclear on who might issue this as immed covg with O2 use. Is there a carrier that will do so...? :1confused:

The question has ben answered but some don't want the correct answer. Send them to me in the future and I will write them.

I've seen, several times, an oxygen tank used for sleep apnea without COPD diagnosis.

Again -- check out the ForeThought FE Application -- the app makes an exception for oxygen use for sleep apnea.

As long as the prospect fits the rest of their silly underwriting requirements, then you could potentially have an Immediate rating.

Americo says it would be a "yes" to the oxygen question. So, I guess I can look at Forethought...thanks to everyone for their input on this:)

What I figured.

From Wikipedia: CPAP stands for: Continuous positive airway pressure, a particular type of ventilation (breathing) therapy.

I know CPAP is used for people who stop breathing while sleeping. If CPAP is a breathing therapy and you add oxygen to it then are you not using oxygen to assist in your breathing?

YES, Forethought. They ask if you are "using oxygen equipment to assist in breathing other than for sleep apnea?"

That's odd that forethought would accept oxygen for sleep apnea. I had them offer a lady graded last year because she had an inhaler for allergies. That was the last time I attempted to send them FE business.
