First Day Coverage for Sleep Apnea

6 years ago I was put on a cpap for sleep apnea. I had it quite bad but couldn't sleep with the machine on. I had the surgery where they removed my tonsils, adenoids and uvula. Horrible surgery I was in pain for two months, after a week in the hospital. Avoid that surgery at all costs.

And no they did not remove my vagina, I still have one.

FTR Foresters exclude sleep apnea right on the application. It does not count as oxygen use.

The new cpap machines are silent. It's actually pretty relaxing. I fill the little water tray up with Jack Daniels and sleep like a baby.

I am trying to replace a Colonial Penn policy on a client who uses oxygen for sleep apnea. It appears Americo and Monumental are both no go 's for first day coverage. Female tob, 54; no other known issues. Any suggestion? Thanks.

mutual of Omaha says oxygen used to assist in breathing excluding sleep apnea!

Here is the official word from 5 Star.

If the CPAP is strictly used for sleep apnea, then there is no problem and the applicant can be considered for Preferred. If the CPAP is use for some other breathing condition such as Chronic Bronchitis or emphysema or some other lung disease. I would consider the use of oxygen.
