For those of you using NORVAX...

Re: Try my Norvax Filters...

Not sure what you are asking for. I think of filters as addressing health conditions.

You are showing a lot of plans.

Some you might want to jettison are:

Time HSA 80/20
Plans with dental
Humana $0 Rx deductible

Re: Try my Norvax Filters...

Yep... I trying to systematically narrow plans down.. That's the feedback I'm looking for Bob... Before applying filters it was giving me about 500 plans!

Re: Try my Norvax Filters...

Just went back to run again. Quotes are coming up slow.

This time I did not put in ht or wt and it still spit out quotes. I did this as husband & wife, no kids. Not sure if that matters or not.

Gave me 43 plans but did not show Time 80/20 plan.

The last time I got 45 quotes so I am guessing I got 2 80/20 plans.

The dental comment earlier is just a personal preference. I try to get folks to concentrate on the medical and getting that right before moving on to ancillary business.

If someone goes to my site (Quotit) they will see about 150 plans (depending on zip). I could show over 300 but I have filtered many of the redundant and higher priced plans out.

When I send a quote I keep it to 6 or so with the ability to see all 150 if they desire.

Even though I don't sell them, I do keep the Saver, Right Start, etc. plans in the mix because I know they will see them somewhere else. I also have the Aetna hospital/surgical plan, the no deductible plans (Aetna & BX) for those who think they can't afford to pay a deductible.

Re: Try my Norvax Filters...

I've had Norvax for 7 months, just applied my filters yesterday. To this point I haven't promoted my website and have only been using Norvax for an outbound comparative rater.

I went from 454 plans down to 200 or so.

Still too many.

I would disagree with Bob, even though I don't promote it, I think it is important to have the dental plans on the site. I understand and agree with his feelings on ID, but people will be looking for it.

Re: Try my Norvax Filters...

I would like to see Norvax go to a system that shows 6 to 8 recommended plans, and an option to click here to see all plans.

Re: Try my Norvax Filters...

Norvax is the quote engine for eHealth. You have the ability to only see a handful of plans and then click a toggle switch to see the rest. Seems like they could do that for you as well.

When prospects see a quote they usually look at premium and deductible. They rarely, if ever, see the "dental included" and just assume they are looking at medical only.

Consumers are terribly misinformed and have no clue how to evaluate plans. Too many options and they get confused.

I have a few plans with dental on my site, but not many. Only show it on a handful of plans, usually 1 or 2 from each carrier that offers it.

If they found the quote engine from my primary site there are links to quote dental plans separately.

Of course, how many actually do that?

. . . . . . .

Re: Try my Norvax Filters...

I wish they offered the "Best Selling Plans" like Ehealth. It's kinda annoying because you want to reduce the number of plans so the engine runs fast and you don't confuse your prospects, but you also don't want to leave plans out...

Most sites I've looked at are displaying 20-60, so I think I should just continue to "nip and tuck" the plans that I really don't sell.

Bob brings up an excellent point though... Even though I'm not actively selling RightStart and SaveRight, they should probably go on the quote engine as other agents are showing them... even Ehealth... If someone did happen across the site and applied for one without talking to me, I don't see that I would have any liability down the road on that... the disclosures are there...

Re: Try my Norvax Filters...

When someone applies online, it is almost always for BX. In the last 2 yrs I have used a quote engine, I have one Aetna and two Humana that applied without me.

In every case I followed up as soon as I had the notice and was able to walk them thru the process. . . except with BX. For some reason, the folks who buy BX want to do so "direct" without agent input.

I probably wrote a dozen BX plans last year and never did get to talk to the client. They would not take phone calls or respond to an email.

However, I did have one who responded last week.

She applied direct with BX. Between her and her husband they had asthma, arthritis and anemia.

I tried calling, no response.

Finally sent an email telling her BX may well decline one or both of them depending on the type of arthritis, anemai and what kind of complications (if any) they have from asthma. I also told her I could work with her, with BX or another carrier, and possibly get a better offer.

Here is her response, unedited.

what good is this insurance if you decline everything dont you think your over pricing everything if you dont pay for anything if im gonna pay almost 400 a month i better have so good insurance and it better pay for the things i need i think you dont care about anyone you are just money hungry people. what has the world come to people are dyeing every day b/c insurance aint paying when there making a killing off you i dont see how you sleep at night. thats my opinion and your insurance is crap you can keep it

Could be wrong, but I don't think she is going to be a client.

That is her loss.
