Many individuals value websites and thier own websites by looking at Googles Tool Bar Page Rank.

Your really looking at nothing that really means a whole lot, Just because you see a site that has a (Tool Bar Page Rank of 4 does not mean it will outrank a site that has a (tool Bar Page Rank of 2).

Perfect Example: Google: Texas Health Insurance

Review the sites in the Top 5 Positions:

www.peelerinsurance.com is #1 with a Google Page Rank of 2 and the below sites with higher Tool Bar Page Rank.

Many webmasters reported a PageRank drop for their websites in several discussion groups. The PageRank of these sites was lowered to zero. Here's Google's official answer to PageRank related problems:

"Don't worry. In fact, don't bother thinking about it. We only update the PageRank displayed in Google Toolbar a few times a year; this is our respectful hint for you to worry less about PageRank, which is just one of over 200 signals that can affect how your site is crawled, indexed and ranked.

PageRank is an easy metric to focus on, but just because it's easy doesn't mean it's useful for you as a site owner."

I agree - though pagerank seems to be a good indicator for how many backlinks, or other sites, are linking into yours. Of course you can always check that through Googles webmaster's tools for more exact numbers

So true. Not only do you see websites with good keyword density in their content ranking high in searches, but also keyword rich domains that use the exact words the searcher is looking in their URL will often rank very high.

This is very true. I know so many website owners who stress out about their PageRank when it really doesn't matter in terms of ranking for any specific keyword. I own websites with a pagerank of 0, and yet they often come up #1 for certain keywords. There will come a day when pagerank is completely eliminated. I don't see what the big deal is.
