Health Sherpa 2016 Open Enrollment

Hi all! We'll look at making the additional emails (besides confirmation, which is important) optional via a setting. Sorry for any inconvenience - we've generally developed emails based on requests from agents and consumers, but we now see that it's not one size fits all.

Thanks, Ning. I just had a case submitted, approved, and a "make your payment email" sent at the same moment as the approval email. But, I had to remove the app because they put the family into 3 separate plans, and applied subsidy that they are not eligible for. In this case, I know the family well, and explained that the emails were computer generated. It will be wonderful to know that you are adding a voluntary setting.

Ning, thank-you so much for accepting our feedback!

As you know from news reports, there are always a certain percentage of applicants who never pay their first premium. The reasons are many, but never because they didn't receive payment notifications.

As pointed out earlier, HealthCare.gov and Insurers always send notifications via e-mail and/or U.S. Mail and/or by phone contact. Agents also have our individual methods for following up, when we need to. Thanks again, Ning.

On the redirect issue, I just uploaded 10 clients verification information this weekend and every single one through Sherpa and ACA express had 2 applications for 2016. So these systems are not pulling the government created application. I find it hard to believe this isn't going to cause issues when they changed providers. If we have to go back and cancel the 2015 policy we aren't saving time, we are wasting it. The redirect left no questions. I sure hope I'm wrong.

When I've looked at duplicates that were in there after I completed a new enrollment, I've found the automatically generated marketplace app ID shows no programs associated with it. So, it may not be an issue if the new enrollment makes the other ID an empty shell. But - I'm not sure - I'll be checking a bunch of my stuff today, since I'll be slower than I was this weekend.

I have a client with duplicate 2016 apps--new to marketplace, both submitted through Sherpa (changed his mind on plan choice).

What do I need to do??? Do I term coverage from the first one? I don't think they will let me delete app entirely since it was submitted and an enrollment choice was made, but definitely don't want two coverages. The one he doesn't want is zero premium, so it isn't like he can just not pay the first month's premium. I don't want double subsidy being paid out.

yes you need to access his marketplace account and terminate coverage on the one he doesn't want

Last app in always wins...even if only a few minutes after the prior one. Remember, HC.gov is a $500,000,000,000 symbol of Govt precision in action!
