Health Sherpa

When you signed up with HealthSherpa, you would have had to supply your FFM user ID and password. If you didn't give that to them, I don't think you'll be able to process any business through HealthSherpa or access Healthcare.gov through the HealthSherpa site.

Once you get set up with HealthSherpa and have submitted your first application through them, you'll see your client's name in the dashboard. When you click on the client's name, you'll see the blue "Access" button that I mentioned before.

Hope that helps!

Quick Question to my Health Sherpa colleagues...

Client applied/approved at Health Sherpa today. System assigned her a Non-Smoker rate even though she is a Smoker. I wan to correct this before the HC.gov enrollment form is sent to BCBSIL late tonight. What's the best way to do this?...via the Sherpa-FFM portal? Cancel-Reapply?

HealthSherpa support is not getting back to me in their usual timely fashion. They must be totally swamped today. Thanks in advance.

The surefire way would be to create an account for the client on hc.gov and pull in that app ID, delete the old app and reapply with client on screenshare to correct smoker error.

Thanks for the advice RussellTW, but I'll have to find a non-surefire way. I paid $25 to HealthSherpa and will not backtrack into registering at HealthCare.gov..

I've never logged into FFM-SherpaPortal as an agent before, so NOW would probably be a good time to see what's available. Hopefully, "correct an application" will be one of the options. (Nah..that's too easy, LOL.) Wish me luck!

I click on that big BLUE button in the HealthSherpa dashboard. My FFM UserID is already shown in the UserID Field. So far so good. I enter my FFM/Portal PASSWORD, a page comes up saying that it's "authenticating", but never gets inside HC.gov. Browser just sits and spins...saying it's authenticating, until I close the tab. Three times..same result.

The Government and Insurance Companies are so used to shutting down over the Christmas-NewYear holiday season, that there's dysfunction everywhere you turn right now.

I hope HHS gets it's way, and moves the 2016 Open-Enrollment (if there is one) to October 1st thru December 15th.

You might try using a different browser to log into both HealthSherpa and HC.gov. I've used Chrome and IE successfully with both sites, but it never hurts to try another browser just to be sure that's not the problem.

Hello PTerrell. Thanks for the tip. I think there must of been an added layer of security (or something) when accessing the FFMarketplace via the HealthSherpa dashboard. Once I turned off all security restrictions for HC.gov, I was able to login with no problem, using IE11.

Unfortunately there wasn't anything I could do to change this lady's application from Non-Smoker to Smoker, though. She had to call into the Marketplace and make a verbal change/plan-update herself. I'll know after HC.gov sends her health application to BCBS tonight and it shows properly on the BCBS website tomorrow if her phone call to the Marketplace was successful.

man this is how it is going down....they will cxl the first application and put in a new application.....with a feb 1 effective date....man just went through this for the last week on a client that some how manage to put in a application on 12/12 with no income so they issued him with out a subsidy...so we called to change it and they did but cxled the first application and issued the new plan with a feb 1......man it is taken a week for them to issue a 1/2014 with a subsidy....and get this my client can not cancel the original app with bcbs.....was told the request to cancel has to come from the marketplace.....

so if ur iframing ur sherpa aff link ur still having issues?

Yes, still having the same issues. And losing lots of business from it. Everything is fine until they click find plans, then it appears they're still on our site but our logo is replaced by Health Sherpas and when they sign up we lose the client.

i think for the most part we/re getting f#$%ed by all of em, wait untill a year or two from now and they have to save costs including cutting commissions. Just in my state alone we already have a couple of hmo that wont even play with agents

Agreed. I think comp will continue to get squeezed. THe pool of new people will get smaller each year, unless small group implodes, then we have another rush.

I have told all my agents that this is a short term ride. The year 2018 will be the telling point, carriers must stand on their book of business (risk corridor will be gone in 2018). Although, I have been told from a rep that the risk corridor may be gone before that. Once carriers have to stand their ACA book, it will be interesting to see who planned well and who did not.

ACA will change each year, likely not for the better. Build as big a book as you can now, and contract with all the carriers. In a couple years, we will simply be switching business around. And work on your Plan B (whether it's medicare, p/c, life, etc).
