It is the freedom of this business that attracts most new agents (being your own boss, setting your own hours, coming and going as you please, etc..)

I'm 4 years into this business and I'm also interested in getting started selling insurance. My advise is get a good mentor that can help you stay motivated and encourage you when you're starting to have second thoughts, and you will have second thoughts.

You won't have second thoughts if you do it right.

Example one:

You look for a job. They hire you and train you and it usually works.

Example two:

You get an insurance license. You're self employed, you get no training or guidance and you fail.

Guess where the deficiency is?

If you really think reading post after random post of opinions and advice on this forum will work, go for it.

I personally never enjoy a struggle. That's not rewarding to me, it's more rewarding putting in the wood, in order to get the heat out. And when you put in the wood, you know the heat is coming!
