help with a 74 FNT

I have a 74 FN. I submitted it graded as she had heart surgery about 5 years ago and still takes Warfarin. She is also diabetic on insulin 13 units per day. She was happy with the payment and seems quite healthy. It came back declined because of a med she had taken recently. Of course the underwriter could not tell me what the drug was so I had the client call in and they asked her about Alzheimer's. It appears that she complained to her DR. about her memory about 3 months ago so they put her on Namenda. She took it 3 or 4 times and stopped taking it. She saw the DR last week and he asked her about it and she told him she wasn't taking it an he appeared to have no problem with it at all.

She seems very sharp and appears to be in very good health. I just want to get her approved graded. When I was taking the ap I thought I might be able to get her bought [referred but didn't want to mess with it.

Amy suggestions?[/QUOTE

Many companies would have taken that level without the Namenda. Including many without a phone interview.

The Namenda story can be mitigated with some companies. You have KSKJ. I believe they would work with you and her on that.

They are very good with situations like that. But you already know that.

I am in this business to make money, period. I am still paying back a $5900 chargeback because I was able to get a guy bought preferred through UHL. According to UHL the guy lied on his application. He was more than willing to accept a 2 year waiting period, but me being the nice guy that I am, took the time and got him preferred. Whether you wish to admit it or not; FE buyers are not the most truthful people on the planet.

I could have spent my time calling Foresters and doing a 30 minute PHI, but I chose to have her sign a mostly blank app and moved on to a $145 per month laydown. Based upon what we know now, it appears I made the right decision.

Lets say your selling cars and you have a guy who wants to buy a specific car and is willing to pay $10,000 for it. The car he is looking to purchase, you took in on trade, and the dealer paid 6K for it. You know you can get management to accept $7500 to 8K for it. So you being the righteous, god is good kind of guy that you are would tell him he can buy it for 8.

I am a salesman and your an order taker.

I know where your coming from JD and while I was at her home I thought about going to KSKJ. The reason I didn't was because I didn't want to spend ten minutes filling out the app and another 20 minutes doin the PHI, knowing full well I was going to a big laydown.

The other problem I have with KSKJ is, it can take 2 plus weeks to get an approval when I can have an answer in a day and a half with SNL. FTR the heart surgery was 4 years ago not 5.

Then with the hit from insulin use with KSKJ, the payment wasn't much different from the graded payment.

But the KSKJ is level coverage. And the KSKJ interview is 8-10 minutes. And optional.

It shouldn't take that long to get a decision. Never does for me. But even if it was, 2 weeks for a yes answer vs a day for a no answer? I'll take the 2 weeks every time.

Foresters interviews are 10-12min not 30. And if the next apt is such a lay down then you can take the time to put the client in the best product possible. I had a guy with treated Hep C I had to put through LBL because he got declined with Americo. Was I a fan of a 25min app, hell no. But writing him that was a lot better then being lazy and doing AIG.

1. The last deal I sent KSKJ was called in from his home on the 29th. I got the approval on 12-13. After faxing in the app on the 31st, no further contact was needed. It sat in an in house review.

2. Just recently I received an email telling me a guy missed a payment. I was on the road so I called Foresters to get his phone number. I was on hold for 20 minutes.

3. As I stated earlier, I am still paying on a $5900 chargeback because the insured lied to me while taking the application. If I had just written him graded, which he would have accepted, I would be $5,900 richer.

4. About a week ago I received, on the same day, two different letters from the same company stating they would not be paying claims do to health questions not answered properly. I am sick of getting penalized because the clients either lie or forget about a past illness.

When I have a lady on three heart meds plus Lasix and warfarin; that is also a diabetic on insulin and uses Albuterol. I am sorry but I don't feel that bad about putting her into a graded policy. Its called cover your ass. If I get her approved level and she dies within 2 years and something is missed by underwriting, I am the one getting a chargeback.

If anybody wants to try and replace her I will give you a clue. She lives in an old brown trailer on a dirt road in Michigan. She has an old brown Chiwawa and her trailer has the nicest wheels in the park.
