I Need Some Advice Please ?

Hello everybody!

First of all let me thank you for participating in the forum and being so generous with your knowledge.

I was 'this' close to signing up with Primerica and decided to do my homework first and that is how I found this forum. I don't even have my license yet but tests don't scare me so that's not important for me right now. I will get it when I need it. What IS important is knowing what I'm going to do with it once I have it. I'm trying to learn as much as possible so that I have a clear idea of what I'm going to do by February, which is when I will be ready financially to jump in full time. By then I should have enough money to take care of the bills for around 6 months and still have some money to invest in leads (if I decide I should buy those) or some other kind of prospecting, business cards, mailers, etc. And especially not depend on advances. I would prefer to get my money as-earned in order to avoid charge-backs.

I would love to do Medicare Supps just because I tend to have good rapport with seniors (especially latino ones, my first language is Spanish) but I have absolutely no clue where to start. What are the good companies? Should I just contact Frank Statsny? Is it possible to make a decent living selling just that? I'm in Central Florida by the way, in case it makes a difference. More specifically I'm in Orlando.

How much is the average commission on basic auto insurance? I know it's a completely different product, market and license. I'm asking because I could probably write 150-200 policies a year without almost any work at all. Basically captive customers. How much money would that be? I know it's not a lot, but would like to have a rough idea.

Please help this not-even-noob-yet.

I won't say it's a scam because I don't know enough about it, but what I want to do is sell insurance and fulfill my customer's needs, I'm not interested in a downline, not AT ALL.

@arnguy: Frank Stastny being in Florida is great news. I hope he responds the page. If he doesn't I know where to get his number  but I'd rather wait for an invitation.

Thanks for the responses guys.

Let me say Primerica is not a scam. My suggestion would be to get licensed first before you try to get all involved with content. You can get over whelmed with the amount of information available and it might confuse you when studying for the test.

When taking the test your main goal is to just answer the questions but if you have all other kind of information in your mind there is a chance of over thinking the questions.

If your currently employed it might be a good idea to get licensed before you quit or give a notice. That's just my two cents....

Frank is a great guy.
Primerica is a good company ur market will be blue colar clients. They may cater to the Spanish community as well. So it might be good to get ur feet wet.

Choosing between Frank and Primerica is like choosing between a Ferrari and a VW.

Sorry gang. Primerica IS a scam. They push only term insurance. They're trained to replace good WL and ULs with their sh----ty term. They promise the world only to have 98% of their reps completely broke. They even lie about the premium they're agents produce. Stay away!

Primerica has been around for well over 30 years.. Some may not like their way of doing business but they are not a scam company. No I'm not with PFS but it's not so fair to say they are a scam company because someone may not like their way of doing business..

I would agree with RBA, though I would not go as far as calling it a scam (it comes very close), if people want to make foolish decisions, they are entitled to that. MLM is a flawed distribution model, wether it be organizations as the big A or the organization you are talking about. When everyone in the distrubution model is both a customer and distirbutor, there is a huge problem with this. I can write in detail about it, I don't have the time. I have known many people in the past years who have aproached me in my younger days to be a part of these organizations, telling me how they going places, well these same people I see now have nothing to do with their MLM organization and are struggling. By the way, you will also hear "we are different than the others" -- buyer beware, an MLM is what it is, it's not the product I am attacking, it's the distribution system I am attacking. Whenever you are told to sell a product and have these same buyers become distributors, as RBA put it, run fast.
